If you were to do a lot of the work yourself (minus paint obviously) would a project like this be cost effective?

IE by the time you were done, would you still have a good savings over say a 3-4 year old Cig that didn't need any work?

The reason I ask is that I'd love to do a project like this in the future, just want to know what I'd be getting into.
