Transducer on Cafe

Can you put a through hull transducer on a cafe.....For the depth finder.....Someone told me that it would not work through the wood in the hull.....

I have one, and it doesn't work very well. Mine is a '90...

Most all Cigs came witha transducer glassed into the hll on the Starboard side of the engine room. There is no wood in the hull bottom.

My '86 Cafe transducer is also glassed in the hull. Never really use it either.
