28ss hulls same as pantera?
 

Are older 28ss hulls from the 70s same as the newer pantera 28s?

I'm seeing 28 ft cigarettes, some redone and wondering if their hulls are just as good as the newer panteras in terms of design.

Also, any stringer/transom/hull issues that are common to 70s generation cigarettes?

Can I expect to run 70s era cigarette hull hard (75MPH in the rough) and expect good performance?

28 pantera is from the mag27.
both great water boats.
you can still buy a pantera new, not a 28cig.
there are 28 cigs out there in great condition, but 75 is asking alot w/o strong bbc's.

Dude I'm tellin ya, it's hard to find a 28 that will run in the rough stuff as good as a 28 Cig!

And I have a 28 Cig for sale and it doesn't have any pink on it! :D :D

Yours is really nice! And seems to have good history. But there's a little bugger in my head to look at newer boats as financing/insurance is tougher for these old school boats. I am able to pay cash but prefer not to. Your boat is pretty high on my list at the moment, biting myself for missing out on the 91 apache 28 and redone 28 pantera with big blocks.

There is another 28 apache for sale on Boattrader.com for a good price. I think they want around $39K for a 1990 with blowers.

I am in the market and am pretty set on a 28 pantera, but those restored 28 cigs are unbelievable, especially the dash. I like the 28 Cigarettes, but I understand that the Pantera is a better rough water boat. The Pantera looks bigger than the Cigarette. I'd buy a 28 Cigarette, but the cabin on a pantera looks so much bigger. So how does the cabin space compare. I got in a 1999 28 Pantera and there was enough room for about six people down there - confortably. I could overnight in it very easily and comfortably - can you do the same with a 28 cigarette. Does anybody know the weight difference? I see alot of 28 Cigs with twin 350's is that because the bilge is so small its hard to get big blocks in there.

Saw that one, asking price is high plus I'm looking for twins. A 91 apache brave with twins went for 24K recently that you gave a heads up on. Geez, I got back on this site a little late for that one =(

I think that 28 for 25 was unusual, and you wont be seeing that again.
