Got home last night at 3:30 am with my new-to-me cig. 12 hours from CT to VA. Naturally the entire day here is a washout due to tropical storm remnants, so I am sitting here just staring at it in the front yard.

It looks a little odd since the rig is longer than the house, but oh well, I don't really see that as a problem.

Thanks to those who pointed me towards this boat and qualified it as a nice boat,, and gave me reason to drive up there. (Fountain40icbm, 4195)

I'll post some more pics as soon as I get it uncovered, and cleaned up for summer.

Yeah - I remember you saying that in another thread.

While we were sea-trialing 2 people called wanting the boat and the owner had to tell them that it was sold... or presumably sold.

OL40SVX 06-03-2007 06:53 PM

Congrats on the boat!!! I knew you would like it. It was a great deal. I was with Todd today and he was driving his friends boat. He already got the itch for something else. The boat was formerly owned by Joe Spina/Loose Cannon I believe. Todd had gone through the entire boat though and made it real nice. Congrats on the boat again seafordguy!!!

Hollowpoint 06-03-2007 09:21 PM

Congrats.

I hope to see the boat in person one day. Do you think you are going to take it to Harborfest next weekend if you feel comfortable with it? I was going the whole weekend, but as it stands, I can't get off work friday so I'll be there Saturday.

I also plan to go to Jammin on the James this year.

Clay Washington 06-03-2007 11:22 PM

Now you'll know why there is a #1 in the logo!

Looking to see some of these "new to the area" Cigs around this year.
Won't be at harborfest - I'll be at the Jacksonville PR.

Yep, Florida busted my chops when we went to Miami to pick up mine! It's all worth it though.

Wait till you sign up for your first poker run with the new rig. Feels good to write "Cigarette" on the line where it says, "manufacturer".:D

Don't think I am going to feel comfortable enough yet to run over to harborfest. I'll see about cruising over to Jammin' on the James. I have no doubt we'll meet up sooner rather than later - I am sure all the Southside Cig owner's are great guys and can't wait to meet everyone.

Tolls were narrow - that's for sure. Luckily we used my Fiance's EZ-Pass from work so hopefully noone notices ;) It took a few hundred miles, and a couple stops in and around rest areas for me to feel comfortable with the rig but after a while I got pretty comfortable towing it. I can see, from a stability standpoint, why people say you should have a dually though. I bet it would have beem a handful with SRW.

Funny you said "Addiction" - that is the current name of the boat.

We're changing it to "Wanna Drag?". I know it is bad luck but screw superstition.

I do TOO.

This was the first weekend of boating for me - for the most part trouble free (so far) and let me tell you, I AM HOOKED!!

xconn92 06-14-2007 06:45 PM

That boat was sitting ten minutes from my office and I kept putting the call off. :chick:

I suck.

Looks like you got a sweet ride at a very fair price. I really suck.

Enjoy it!

Xtreme Air 06-14-2007 08:51 PM

Good Luck and WELCOME!!

Sweet ride - yes
Fair Price - yes
Gas Money - no
Willingness to cash in my 401k to rummage up gas money - yes!!

Hollowpoint 06-15-2007 06:19 AM

Do you think your 401K money will be in to do Jammin on the James? I still hope to make it there. It's about a month away.

Not to depress you, but did you know you can go thru an entire tank of fuel (What's a Cafe's, about 260?) in a couple of hours at wide open throttle? Hope your 401K is built up. The mantra to learn for most running is "just cruzin"

You know, I hadn't given it too much thought but I am actually more comfortable with the boat than I thought I would be.

I'll check out the details and let you know!!

Stalkin 06-15-2007 10:06 AM

Congrats!! Welcome to a great addiction
