In the Newer cigs you are typically looking at these style cabin layouts.

In order - Half Cabin, Full Cabin, NO CABIN!!

Of course I am partial to the cabin functionality and enclosed head of the early-mid 1990 Cafe's and Guns that looks like this - (this is a cafe)

There is a subtle different in the Cafe and Gun; I've Noted that, in these older models with the cooler/galley on the right and the table on the left, that the Top Gun couches flow into the rear bed and there is actually a second forward facing seat facing the table instead of the complete wrap around couch.

Cigarette refers to them as 'Cover Girl Cabin' and 'Extended Cover Girl Cabin'. I do not think a full cabin is/was available in any twin step Cigarettes.

Does it really add that much weight and cost to go full cabin?

Doesn't look like there is much more to it...

Looks to me like a big difference. That entire "sleep" area is eliminated in the half cabin.

I do believe there was at least one twin step built with the older full cabin.

I agree on area- much more room. I am wondering why anyone would get a 1/2 cabin over the full cabin- it doesn't look like it should cost that much more or weigh that much more so why not go for all that extra space.

In my new Cig I'm going with the "Lip-Ship" design in lieu of the V berth. His design moves the head forward, behind the curtain (privacy), and provides some storage bins each side for luggage. In the mid cabin the seat backs are eliminated so the seats are wide enought to sleep on if you really needed to. I don't plan on sleeping on the boat (no generator) so why would I want a V berth? This way I get a private head and secure storage for the poker runs like Key West.

No. That was a special order 2002 NON-STEP TG with a full cabin.

It actually isn't that it's a ton of weight but it's weight right in the nose of the boat. When I picked mine up from Lip-Ship I asked Phil about converting it to an extended cover girl. He said it would completely throw the balance of the boat off. Most older TG's tend to porpoise in the mid-range speeds. I can actually trim the drives to 3 or 4 (tabs up) while cruising and my boat will hold the nose up and won't porpoise a bit. As far as storage, the forward bulkhead unzips and I can store all non-essential things (bumpers, extra life jackets etc) in the front. Plus, a full cabin without genset and A/C in south Louisiana = useless.:D

Correct. Sold new by Ocean Perofrmance to a gentleman in MA. It's currently for sale as by the way.

And weird paint. Have seen it a few times on the Cape.
Sounds great, looks clean, but just *something* about these graphics...
