How much is this bullet worth???????

How much is this Bullet worth???? http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/0/5/88596405.htm The boat has not run in 2 years, doesnt have a trailer and the interior would need to be totally redone, all of the upholstry replaced etc..........i would say it is more of a project boat.........any advice???????

SKRAMER 07-23-2007 10:49 AM

Have you seen it in person? I would say its worth $30,000.

Clay Washington 07-23-2007 11:06 AM

$30,000 to $35,000 sounds about right.

I wouldn't sell mine for less than $65,000!

302Sport 07-23-2007 11:30 AM

Ive seen it in person, and let me tell you it is raggy......it also was left in the water because it had bottom paint........

Hollowpoint 07-23-2007 11:46 AM

I would think it's only worth the $30-$35K if you hear the engines running and you take it for a trial run. I paid that for mine and it also came with an aluminum trailer and it was running. Mine is also a project boat, but at least I can enjoy it while I do the work as time and money permit.

If it doesn't run, I would say $25 max, as it will take $3-$5K each engine to "freshen it" and get them reliable.

If you paid $35K for it, you couldn't get it to the level of mine for the price I'm asking, including a trailer. Check it out and give me a call. JOHN

TexomaPowerboater 07-23-2007 06:48 PM

How much would I pay for a bad azz bullett - $55,000

How much to get that boat there.
Just throwing out numbers
Engine rebuild and small upgrade - $8,000
New upholster (no idea) $5,000
Dash upgrade & new gauges $4,000
Bottom paint off/cosmetics??? $6,000
Trailer $3,000
Misc BS $4,000

$25K seems about right assuming the worst.......although...... sitting in the water - could be some rot.

302Sport 07-23-2007 07:02 PM

what could i offer that wouldnt offend him??????

Jupiter Sunsation 07-23-2007 07:09 PM

Offer 20K, boat is beat and 17 years old. Check the other thread on the 35 Playboy that was on Ebay. Boat was an 02 with 500's and ran fine with 330 hours on it and it was traded to the dealer for 90K. You can't finance and old boat so this guy is stuck with a project so don't overpay.

bmanafort 07-23-2007 07:20 PM

I dont know all the details of the boat but it sounds like the drives were upgraded (bravo description and showers) and it is a true 31' boat which means it will run the sound. Bottom paint is a big problem and you will need a trailer. I would get a quote on both of those items and take it off the price or offer him to do the two and pay asking. If the boat runs strong I think its worth it, minus the other trailer and bottom paint.

its worth 35k easy :D

all kidding aside 30k seams about right imho.

unless you do all the work yourself you will have double that in it to bring it back. your better off buying one that has already been re-done if you can find one you like.
wait a year and ill sell you mine:cool-smiley-027:

bmanafort 07-23-2007 07:51 PM

That picture is one beautful bullet! I would get his email and find out everything he did if you end up buying.

jayhawk261 07-23-2007 07:56 PM

Steve_H, that is a beautiful boat. When you selling? Any more pics? Post please!:D

I bought this one for just shy of $16K back in '02. Did all the work myself including the upholstry carpentry. Plan on doing that because the engine hatch frame and the lower bench seat frame will be compost. Was into the boat for apprx $30-35K. Used it for almost 3 years but when it was gone there was nothing wrong with that boat.
IMO your better off taking a look at John's (lakeluvr) Bullet. It's the cleanest I've seen and not to mention ready to use.

Hey Steve, can you post some more pics of your ride? Motors/cabin/cockpit/etc. That has to be the nicest Bullet I've ever seen.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread:D

302Sport 07-24-2007 08:32 AM

CIG1988 How bad of shape was your boat in when you bought it????????? Also what does it take to convert the cockpit to all white instead of that ugly black?????? Are the any others for less than $30K on the market????

cig1988 07-24-2007 09:11 AM

The boat was ROUGH. I removed the engines, gimbal housings etc etc. Refinished everything A-Z. I had a good source for Merc parts at cost that saved me a million dollars.
As far as the white out it cost me less than a grand to do the gauges with paint. If I had to pay someone to do everything I did it would be beyond what John is looking to get for his Bullet.

302Sport 07-24-2007 09:20 AM

i mean white out the whole cockpit instead of that black that they have across the whole front??????

I've only seen 1 Bullet advertised for less than 30K, and it had been sunk! I have seen decent/good examples for between 30 and 40K. To get one that has been updated with new upolstery and whited out cockpit and has fairly fresh engines and drives, you'll easily spend 45-55K if not more.

My personel budget would not allow that much, hence, I bought a running project boat that will take a few years to get it how I'd like it (including new paint) and I'll likely spend 15-20 to get it there and have a total of 50K in the boat. BTW, make sure you check the fresh water and waste systems, you can spend 1-2 grand to bring them on-line if you have to replace tanks.

The choice is what your budget will allow, but you can spend it up front or over time and have the same product. I personally love the Bullet. Handles great and can hang with the big boys. And Ilike having something different. Attached is a fairly recent pic with the deck graphics.

Thanks cig1988 for the post. I keep trying to tell people that. Oh well, maybe some folks don't like the American flag as much as I do. Sure stands out in a crowd tho, and everyone that sees it remembers it. Thanks again.
John

302Sport 07-24-2007 02:23 PM

I understand what u guys are saying, but I would be updating the boat myself so it makes it a little different..........

Hollowpoint 07-24-2007 09:03 PM

Lakeluvr's boat with the flag looks nice also. Nice ride.

When I mentioned in the above post it would cost 15-20 grand to get my boat really sweet, I was planning to do the dash mods myself, my best friend is a master mechanic, and I have a decent contact for my upholstery. All these items will hopefully be mostly done for materials, beer and rides. The only thing that was going to cost big bucks would be paint and graphics.

Count on 15-20 grand with you doing a fair portion of the work. You turn it over to a performance place for the work, it may cost another 10 grand.

If I can make another suggestion, there is a 35' Mistress (older Cig) with 540's listed on this site that you may want to check out. I last saw the boat a few weeks ago. I thought it really looked sweet and was in excellent shape. But it has the classic flat deck that some may not like. Personally, I like the look. I've run with him and I think it's a 70+ mph boat that can handle the rough stuff.

HotCig35 07-27-2007 04:31 AM

I know the boat. He's a friend of mine and can atest to it being a solid boat when he ran it. He never beat on it and he took really good care of it when he was using it. Like most of us he ran out of time to use it so it's been sitting for a while. I can tell you right now you can grab it for $30K.

302Sport 07-27-2007 07:38 AM

do you have the cafe with the scoops thats always in front of the pavillion???????????????

Clay Washington 07-27-2007 08:38 AM

so, are you gonna buy it?
