35 Cafe' With Shorten Drives
I have a 91 Carbon Fiber Cafe' with 700 hp engines. I'm running 30" 4 blade Bravo props. I have thought about playing around with my "X" dimension by getting either 1" or 2" shorten Bravo lowers. Has anyone tried these on a Cafe'. I referenced the fact that this is a Carbon Fiber boat because I thought it might respond different than a regular fiberglass one.
I'm also considering Boxes. If you've had any experience with these I would also be interested in how they turned out. Thanks in advance, Bob |
Just curious, what speeds are you currently running ?
My prior '91 Carbon Fiber Cafe with about 575 per side and 25p 3 bladed Bravo's saw 84-86mph on Gaffrig Speedo ( non GPS ) with nose cones. |
I'm not really sure. My GPS was stolen and I know the speedo is not that accurate. I think it runs around 85 + ?, from what others next to me say. I should invest in a new GPS before I get too crazy with modifications.

84 - 86 with 25 3-blades? What RPM were you turning those motors? Had to be pretty high.

Correct, right about 5200, 1.36's. 85-86 mph was light fuel and load in salt water. Fresh water would see 83-84 consistantly. Derebery Marine SC 600's. Gaffrig speedo only verification.

FWIW - this is the boat / my old boat I'm referring to. The Dereberry 600's are no longer in it though.

I remember that boat from when I was looking for mine. Other than mine being red and gray, they're identical.
