Default 24'Cig-Who has one?

I purchased a 1972 and was wondering who else has one so I could benefit from there experience with the boat. I haven't seen many threads talking about them, so am I to ass..ume there relatively rare. I am also curious about the market value of the boat since there aren't any recent sales.

Any idea of the years Cig made the 24' and was Banana making their 24 at the same time?

The pic that 24 degrees posted is mine prior to complete strip down. I believe, based on serial number that it may have been the first 24 foot hull. Presently way behind in refurbishing the boat. Hull is in great shape but decks require major structural work. In one of your other postings I think you gave a serial number that doesn't fit with what I found in my explorations with others. Serial should be 8 digits. First two are the length. The next 2 are the year of mfg. The next two are the month of mfg. The last two are the hull number. It is my understanding that they were put on the market at the beginning of 1972 untill about 1975 and probably less than 25 were built. Molds for 24 & 28 went to Charlie McCarthy for the "Banana". Same hull but different deck reintroduced early 1980's for a couple years. I think the couple 24 Squadrons that were built also had this same hull. From my exposure, check your transom for moisture and your fuel tank for corosion.

Thanks Boatnuts, Did you have to replace the fuel tank and if you had a problem with the transom, what is the fix? The serial number should be 24720101. That would indicate that this boat is hull #1 built in January 1972?

Although not installed yet, I have removed the old tank and had a new one fabricated. The old transom core has also been removed (very wet and heavy) and a new one is going in late Sept.
