sweet ride.
Just curious, why did you go to the #3 from the #5 ?

TOMCEI. With the #5 drives, on Stelling's box's, and no spacers in the drives, it was a 4500-5000 rpm, "burn a hole in the water" push to get it to come on plane. That just wasn't what I wanted for a pleasure boat. Don't get me wrong, the performance was great, but where I boat there are a lot of no-wake zones and consequently "get back up on plane" times ea. time I went boating. I did put in spacers and that helped a lot. By the time I was done I had 3" of spacers in the drives, so I decided that I would switch to #3A's that were only 2" longer and had a cavatation plate, that the #5's didn't.
The #3A's have the same "guts" as a #5 and pleasure boating is much more enjoyable now. I do have a set of fresh #5's that I may try w/o the box's to see what happens. I'm worried that w/o the set-back of the box's and the 5's on the transom, I may never get on plane. Time will tell. The boat is for sale, if you are interested.

RMPRam,

Beautiful boat.:D:D

God help me if I ever have to route my exhaust that way.:rolleyes:

Thanks for all the positive comments on my 38. It has been a labor of love and $$$$ for 10 years.
The exhaust was routed in that way for several reasons. It directs the "exhaust/noise" downward and with all 4 pipes between the drives, the noise is "contained" between the drives and not sent to the sides. It does make a significant difference. I didn't like at first, but I have gotten used to it and have grown to like the "look" a lot more. It is different.

Just ran a poker run last weekend with a buddy of mine on his 84 Flat Deck. It's not even close to the shape of some on this thread but it is an absolute battleship. Great riding classic Cigarette. Boat is called Adrenaline. I think it originally came from Michigan. Anyone that's been to the Emerald Coast PR the last several years has probably seen it. I'll try to get some pics of it and post.

Labor of love? I know that relationship very well and yours shows. I figured why you routed the pipes that way. You did a great job on that too. I just hope I don't have to do the same.
