Why do we not have info on this boat!?
3 Attachment(s)
You guys are letting me down...I'm very disapointed.
Someones got to have more pics/info (motors/drives/interior/cabin layout/size/speeds/etc) Looks like a mini Kilo/strength-honor copy. |
I don't know what it is but I would guess a 39 sit down. It looks very similar to the 39 Top Gun that was built with the 1075's so I would have to think it's the same guy. It has similiar paint, flag in the front, silver billet swim platform etc
|
It is a Skater hull finished by Cigarette from what I heard.
It is verv big and bulky looking boat. |

I hope this information helps:
We built the windshield. This configuration will work with whatever hulls Skip Braver decides to build. These windshields have excellent optical clarity. If you have any questions contact us at Aero Marine, La Verne CA, 909.392.5544 |

looks like about 40 ish, maybe a cut down 42, I dont think skater has a 40+ V, their hull is 39'9. is the gun in the pic a 38 or 39? hard for me to tell. 1075's in it
|
If they raise the engine hatch a foot it might look better. Boat is fugly as is.
|
agreed, I think a raised hatch would make it look sweet, but I like the direction they are heading!

Looked very tall and wide up close, and even the seats looked like they sit unusually high up. But that may have just been because it was docked next to "XXX". The paint and interior colours were all over the place, and made the boat very "busy" looking to me...
But different strokes for different folks.......... Saw it on the trailor leaving and it had unusual Trim Tabs and a really cool billet swim platform... |
If it is a skater hull and deck, why is cigarette painted all over it???

[QUOTE=fountain40icbm;2298400] The guy wanted Cigarette to finish and rig the boat for some reason. QUOTE]
The reason is that no one, including OL, Nortech or even Skater can finish a boat like Cigarette. |

I am a big Cigarette fan but feel this boat, the Top Fish, the 55 Cruiser are all diluting the brand. Can't wait to see what bad idea Skip has next........................:hitfan:
Having someone else build their product so they can label/ bling it up is pathetic. Their boats are becoming dinosaurs and OL/ others are making nicer boats that go faster with identical power. Phil is the only one that is improving the boats by making them faster/ better looking and getting them published in magazines. An enclosed head/ air conditioning/ generators are becoming standard on many of the competitors boats that are still running faster. |
I spoke with the owner at Sarasota. It is exactly as stated above 39' (Skater/Cigarette) built and rigged. According to the owner it was done as a one off concept, but they would be willing to build more. He said it cost almost DOUBLE what a normal 39 Gun would cost!

So, don't buy a Cig if you feel that way. There may be faster and better equipped boats, but NONE, better built.
A Cigarette is a Cigarette is a Cigarette & that says it all ! |

What like a Sunsation?? I think not. There's a reason a number one is on the side of the boat. A Cigarette is what all others are compared to. Running in ruff water this past weekend makes me proud to run a Cig!!
Skip is a great marketer/ T-shirt salesman but is certainly not a boat builder/racer/designer. Turkish built cruisers, Skater built one off boats/kilo boats and bad concept boats are not going to advance the brand. I have met several people that made the switch from the #1 brand to Outerlimits and couldn't believe the difference. One friend of mine was looking to replace his 96 TG and couldn't believe the boat was almost identical to a new 2005. He felt the twin step was just not a big enough difference, the interior/dash was dated. He bought a 39 OL and has since bought two more. Cigarette #1 brand name Fountain #1 race winner OL Nicest cosmetics/interior/ exclusive marque. I think Cigarette needs to focus on Gladiator type boats/ Maximus type boats or bring their line up to date to carve out their niche and stay on top. The speed boat market is where they need to focus. Who would pay 8-900K for a Rough Rider with no ac/generator and a $hittter box in the middle of the cabin? If Harley made scooters and bicyles or Ferrari made station wagons and school buses wouldn't you agree that it dilutes their brand image and it is the wrong direction for the company? Now factor in Chinese labor building Harley scooters or Turkish labor building Ferrari school buses and it would further confuse the American #1 Offshore Powerboat legend made by someone else............... Not bashing the boats but I am questioning why they are straying from their heritage and not giving the competition a better challenge. |

You really don't know what you are talking about. It is common knowledge the OL lags behind Cig in several areas inc cosmetics , fit and finish and rigging.
Your quote: Wow! There is alot of Cig bashing going on here. Cig needs this and Cig needs to step up to that. Ol and Cig both produce beautiful boats. There is no doubt about that. Without getting into specifics, Cig is ahead in some areas and Ol is ahead in other areas. Its all personal opinion and what you like. I certainly will consider Ol when making my next purchase........................ |

But,...I still think a 39 Gun w/700,s is a better boat than a 39 Quattro.(IMO of course, and I like the Quattro.) |

That's exactly right. Like I said, they are both nice boats. However, it gets a little old with everybody having nothing but praise for OL and continuous bashing of Cig. Ol is not the second coming. They still have a ways to go. Cig still builds a better overall boat but lacks in amenities. What I can agree with you on is the fact that I would like to see Cig build a boat with some more creature comforts, lighter layup and faster hull . But if they built that, why would you need OL?:D
