You can order Lip-Ship sweat shirts from Phils site.

The new site is awesome! Love the attention to detail and abundance of info. Nice job.

That running picture was photoshopped in, looks terrible. The shots posted on OSO on the trailer looked much better than it did in real life at the show.

Yep, dont know what I was thinking. It was the last post before class. The 49 does not have nice lines in my opinion.

Perhaps they rushed it a bit......you see the nice photo of Don Aronow standing in front of the Cigarette sign?

Well that is the property of HORBA, and we were never asked permission for them to use it.

Maybe just an oversight, what do you think?

Somebody..... contact us !!!

No Skip was recently quoted in a magazine that Cigarette couldn't deliver a inexpensive model anymore. They felt a 38 TG would be the best model for someone to start with.

DirtyMoney 11-05-2007 07:38 PM

Or gladiator!

OL40SVX 11-05-2007 07:51 PM

Cigarette basically discontinued the Gladiator last year and the vice about the same.

It is against the law for CIG to use your photo for commercial gain absent your consent - have them take it down, get your permission or sue them.

We have requested that they take it down immediatley. We are awaiting a response.

We had the same situation with Donzi who wanted to use an historic photo. However, they came to us and asked for a way they could use the photo for commercial gain and we worked out something with them.

In this case the photo was just used without asking.

I think you should let it go. Consider the photo a donation to the sport and the company that started it all.

BraceYourself 11-06-2007 07:44 AM

I agree what's the big deal with them using the pic. Did you pay for the pic to begin with. Does the deceased don get the proceeds, otherwise the photo or any photo should be able to be used.

If I'm missing the big picture I'm sorry. But these old photos are historic, but in the same token the photos should be the rights of who are in them. I'm probably all wrong, but unless Don comes back from the grave and asks for money then I don't see a problem with it.

MickeyBoy 11-06-2007 08:20 AM

The only one who can ask some $$ for the rights , it's the person who cliked the picture. (Int.l law ) or Don's son Michael.

freshwaterfiend 11-07-2007 11:21 AM

Sucks the Gladiator is no more.

pm203 11-07-2007 11:34 AM

They will still build it, but be prepared. And, bring lots of $$$$$$$$$$.

The photo is owned by the estate of Don Aronow.

Permission to use the photo was given exclusively to HORBA, with the use being supervisied by the estate.

We have used it to promote the history of both Don and the sport on our website and in stories in various media.

The point here is, if someone uses it without permission for their financial gain, that is not allowed.

If you think that is not a big deal, start selling t-shirts with the Cigarette logo on them and see how quickly they contact you.

Hangtime 11-07-2007 05:40 PM

I seriously doubt the use of the picture earn $1 more of revenue. Seems pretty petty to me. They are just acknowledging their heritage. If I were a member of the Aronow family, I would appreciate them recognizing Don's continued impact on the company.

pm203 11-07-2007 08:58 PM

I am sure there is more than one copy of that photo. And, if there was a another copy that belonged to the factory, don't they have the right to use it? Just asking.
