re-powering/ ITS drives
 

anyone have any experience trying to put 750 hp through a broave ITS drive. I have had some tell me it can be done and others say no way.

Can it be done? Sure

Will it hold up? NO

That's a shame.
Looks like the old tried and true SSM #3A was a stronger unit.
I don't know if it was less expensive.

Seems like the only alternative is 6s since you cant get nxts.
Tryin to find a set thats reasonable if thats possible.

It can be done and it will hold. It all depends on the driver...

We have that set up on a gladiator and it works well but not much weight to contend with.Larger ,heavier boats wont last as well.

have the 525s redone by innovation or zul into 625s

Exactly! Just be prepared to fix a drive sooner or later depending on your skill level, boating habits, etc.

So true...We love our SSM3a's.

On a twin step, absolutely. the hardest pressure on the drives will be getting up on plane and then having the right rpm when you reenter from a launch. I thought you were going bigger power and 6's?

boat is almost done. Fiberglass work being done now. went with 6s.

Did Cig address the issue?

Yes, Tim from Cigarette called me directly and worked out everything. We will soon be ready to splash.
