Great photos Tank ... looks like you had a blast out there!

Ya' think its a bit to big for a baby Baja :evilb:

I'm gonna try and get out Sunday morning if possible.
Light winds and "miniature" 3-5's seem reasonable.

Get er done. Can't beat a Cig for rough water! I crossed the Gulfstream in 14 ft seas in A Cig. Max speed was maybe 20 mph!

that's some serious water!

Hey Bill, it might be a little too big for the Baja but I wouldn't count it completely out! I'll tell you, it looked a lot worse than it actually was once we were outside. I just ran a sh!t load of tab and tucked the drives on the way out and bumped the tabs up and kicked out the drives a bit coming back with them so I didnt' stuff. Quartering the swell and running in the troff is what makes all the difference. If I was heading directly into those swells we'd be dead!!!

We were down in between sets and could see nothing but walls of water all around us. We went over a couple tops of some 10 to 15 footers that were starting to break on the way out. Can't tell you how well the Cig did though. You really realize what these boats were built for in this type of conditions. Didn't get wet once either!!

I got a call from a buddy who lives on the next beach over and has a 95 Gun. Heard us running and called. First thing I hear on the phone, "Are you f*ckin' out of your mind!?":D I had to explain to him it wasn't as bad as it looked once out there.:D

Tank

Although your Cig has the bulk to tough-it-out on days like that,
it takes "balls of steel" to look down the backside of a 15 footer.

I remember getting caught in 15 footers off Palos Verdes Point returning to MDR from Long Beach many years ago in my 30' Tolly. Although the Tolly weighed in excess of 10,000#, it got flopped around like a rag doll in a pit bulls jaw. I had the family with me (Chris was 12yo) and although we made it to MDR safely, everyone decided to skip dinner that night :drink:

Hope to see you on the water soon,
Bill
