There is one in Marco (Cig42x) that I think has 1200 Cobras and is very fast! It has the 188th St commerative paint. Originally had Sterlings but the owner swapped them out for the 1200 Cobras. Very Nice Boat!

The 42 X is the worst performing hull Cigarette has. For whatever reason the 42 has some issues when it comes to efficiency in the water. I heard it first hand from an ex Cigarette employee ( maybe disgruntled)

111 MPH, 117 MPH ... that is efficient enought for me and would have no problem owning one ! ( except for the payment)

Todd, I thought it was the XP that had the issues, not the regular X.

I have know there was issues with the original Twin Step 42 (hard to back up, and tend to lean right to left at speed) but I know the 42x has none of those issues.

I would take the words of a Cig owner who has tried them all instead of an ex-employee that more than likely barely had rides in a few rigs and could not afford one.

Notwithstanding we all know straight hulled TGs and Tigers are the cat's azz!!!

This was Wern's boat, super sharp and ran 117 mph in the Sarasota run. It was featured in Powerboat. The other 42x that I think is still for sale in the LOTO area has 850's as well and was like an 04. Probably the most gorgeous red and multicolor 42 that I have ever seen but again he was asking nearly 500 bills for a 4 year old boat. We tied up to him in LOTO and it was gorgeous.

It very well could have been the XP, I really did not get into depth with him about it. He did say that the issue was the steps were not placed correctly as to the center of gravity on the boat. I don't think he was saying it was a bad ride, they just thought efficient wise it came up a little short . But like I said before 117MPH is efficient enough for me !!
