Need help with the vinyl on the fairing of my Cig

I own a 2000 mystique and I need help with removing the vinyl piece that runs the length of the fairing. I am assuming that the top guns have the same piece of vinyl. I need to get it redone but to get it redone I have to get the darn thing off. Any help is appreciated.

The easiest way to get vinyl off, is using a heat gun. Heat it up until it just gets hott enough to melt the glue underneath and it will pull off. Dont heat until it melts though. Very easy process to do and probably around an hour job.

After that get some orange peel. It will take all excess glue off the fiberglass.

I believe if it's the upholsterd vinly strip it is held on by the automotive style plastic push clips (sorry I don't know the official name) at least mine was.

I posted a picture. Does this mean I dont have to remove the whole piece? I could remove and replace the vinyl with a heat gun and glue?

Are you talking about the vinyl padding running across the top of the fairing or the vinyl sticker?

If it is the sticker, use the heat gun.

If you are talking about the padding, I think it is held on like a door panel of a car with those little christmas tree clips. You should be able to pry it off gently.
