Any info on this cig?

Just wondering how much info is available on this cig? ie how many were made? Are they really this light? How much would you expect to pay for this now?

Thanks

That would be the boat I currently own. Previous owner was OSO member "Wild" . After having a cover girl cabin added to this boat by Lip-Ship it supposedly now tips the scales around 8500lbs. The boat runs near the 80mph mark with stock 500hps so it obviously is lighter than it's production bretheren. Don't know if all of the F2s built in that year were carbon fiber but mine is. The cap appears to have been laid up VERY light for weight savings and therefore shows a fair amount of print-through and stress cracking but otherwise the boat is in flawless condition. Batteries were mounted low between the stringers to keep CG low and the X-dimension appears to be a little higher than production boats. Mine actually has a 1" spacer in the Bravos to make it a little more forgiving as a pleasure boat. As far as numbers built, no idea. Here's a couple before and after pics.

In order;
1) Winning the '98 Worlds in Key West w/ Craig Barrie
2) Wild on Key West PR
3) Me taking ownership at Lip-Ship last April

Awesome boat. Do you plan to keep it or sell it?

Priceb, that's a loaded question!!! I have my eyes on a Top Gun Unlimited or possibly a Tiger. Wife wants a 400SS Formula. We know what usually happens in a case like that but I may be able to hold her off for a couple more years. There is actually a 2006 39 Unlimited w/525s that was built by Lip-Ship that is almost indentical to mine, just some subtle differences in the colors. Side by side they are hard to tell apart. I would love to pick that one up when I get ready to sell this one but who knows. As the previous owner told me, it is pretty cool when you pull up to the dock with a former race boat. Everybody wants to hear the history on it.:ernaehrung004:

My main reason for wanting this boat is that i would be able to tow it in australia!. My 89 cig top gun has been nothing short of a disaster from day one due to our strict laws that have been brought in on weights lengths etc.

My 89 is very, very heavy, but still a good boat.

I'm sure you can buy my old F2 T/S if you step up to the plate. It weighs 7800 lbs and w/525's it runs 90+mph. I think the guy would part with it for the right $.

It spent quite a bit of time in CT before Phil took it in on trade.
