Props on cafe

Guys i am putting in new power in my cafe. I am going from 465hp to 630hp and i have bravo drives with four blade mercruiser 26p props. I realize that i am taking a big chance with the drives. ( New drives are my next purchase. ) I think that i can change the pitch of the props. The motors also dynoed 670lbs of torque. What do the experts recomend on a new prop size.. Thanks for all the help..

Whatever you go with, make sure they only have 3 blades. The last thing you need is solid hookup.

What did the engine builder say your max rpm should be. How many rpm could your 465hp turn the 26 pitch?

JeffC 03-25-2008 05:33 PM

I could turn the 26s at 4900 to 5200

JeffC 03-25-2008 05:34 PM

the builder is putting rev limiters at 5400

I would try the 26s and get a base line. Then call b blades or throttle up and get their opinion. But I think maybe a 28 bravo one. Might be the ticket.

If those are 4 Blade bravos and won't work after your engine build, drop me a PM if you want to sell them :)

I have Innovation 600+ in my 94 and run Bravo 4 blade 28 pitch - blueprinted. Have 1.5 Bravo's.

That should keep you in the 60 MPH group no problem.
