Depth finder suggestion

On my dash I have a depth sounder , broken !
I have to change it ... As I understood , a depth sounder don't give me the depth..it just beep only to a certain depth ...correct ?? So I'm looking for an instrument who tell me the depth not only in feet , but also in meters .. What do you suggest ? I've found out these 3... My depth gauge does not always work at speed...air under the hull. I understand that there is a model in which the transducer is set in oil or something to eliminate the air problem...but the cost is about $3 grand.

In Italy we have a lot of rocks that you don't see , and depth change very quickly . I think my one (broken one) it's only a depth allarm . I need a depth finder ... |

Mike, if you don't take Darren up on his offer, do like Pantera said and get the Livorsi. We have that one in ours and it's great! Problem with using depth finders to help not damage your props is it's usually too late since it's mounted at the transom!

Darren, what up!? Now that the boat is done I figure I can help someone that needs some gauges and panles. If I can get rid of this stuff I can clean out my garage. |

Darren, what up!? Tank , that's only an allarm , or it's also a depth finder ?? Depth SounderDepth Sounder with alarm. 2-1/16 Cutout, 2-3/8 Overall. Liquid crystal display - 0-599 Ft. Shoot-thru-fiberglass or transom mount transducer. Shallow water alarm - from 3 - 20 Ft. Programmable keel offset. And it says only Feet or also Meters ?? Ex. if I stop in the middle of a bay to swim ....:cool-smiley-011: , does it says the depth ??? Thanks U all !!! |
