No. But it came out of Lip-Ship, so you know it was done right.

Rockstar - I have read on a few threads that people have had some problems with fading/deterioration/tearing of these covers in certain circumstances. If I recall from the thread the consensus was that the covers were beautiful covers for indoor use/poker run covers, but that if you are using it for constant OUTDOOR storage that you may be in for some premature wear.

Disclaimer - I know nothing personally of the covers just what i have read here. Search the General Discussion forum for more info.

Wild had one made at Phil's Custom Covers / LOTO...there are photos on here somewhere. Maybe he'll chime in about the quality/fit.

ERIC , I don't understand where the problem is ..
a fabric , can have some colors problem , if the sun it's strong , fading it's normal..(more with bright colors and light , like red , orange , yellow)
If I'll have problems with my cover ...(hope No) Mickey Radal will be responsable ..and change it . It's normal !

I have also that one , it's really very very heavy !!!

tonypo8 03-30-2008 11:24 AM

Huh......... Im looking for a light dust cover style. I have all of the heavy azz cig covers. I just need something that is really light and will cover the whole boat. I will not be traveling with it just strictly to sit on the dock. On my old boat a had an actual cotton type of cover and it worked great. Please chime in if you have any ideas....:D

Again, I have no first hand knowledge, I just said that he should search the GD forum because I remember reading that SOME people had problems.

Obviously anything will fade in the sun - I was just saying to do research before he spends the money. Your cover is awesome looking, no doubt, but judging from the look of the materials I would guess that it makes a better poker run/dust cover than trailering cover or a cover that has to withstand constant strong wind/sun exposure.

Just my .02

Yes That's a dust-poker run - or for a short period .
i've bought it for this summer in Sardinia , I don't want an heavy cover with me ! I'll leave the boat in the marina @ night , and I'll cover with this very very light .
If you want another kind of fabric , heavier but limited colors , Carrie Covers can do it .
I choose the most expencive fabrics ! The ALUMINIZED , it's very very $$$$$$
I payed $2000 for thet cover

From Carrie Covers HP

The Original Ultralite Carrie Covers has done extensive research to come up with the best products avaliable on the market today. Through this research we have found materials that are water resistant and color fast. It is the strongest material manufactured in the world today and is used by the military as well as NASA. All of our fabrics are woven so tightly the fabric has over 8400 lengthwise threads across the width and over 4700 threads across the fabric in one yard. If unraveled, the fabric yarns, laid end to end, would measure 9.7 miles. The material is so light that NASA uses this material in space shuttle rescue systems and rocket recovery systems where light weight and strength are critical.

The Original Ultralite Carrie Covers is manufactured as a "poker run" type cover. It is perfect for indoor and covered storage or to take along with you so that you can cover your boat, airplace, motorcycle or whatever you care to cover. The ultralite cover should not be used in day to day UV rays.

Our hydro-shield cover is made to withstand the day to day UV rays. Although it is slightly heavier than the Original Ultralite Carrie Cover it is durable and safe to use in almost any condition. It weighs in at under half the weight of a canvas cover and can easily be used by one person.

The Original Ultralite Carrie Covers come in many different color choices. When ordering we can check availability of your color choice should it not be one of our standard colors. Lighter colors will withstand the sun UV rays better than darker colors, however even our darker colors should only fade within a 25% range.
Every Carrie Cover is tightened with a shock cord that is sewn into the cover inself. Simply slip over and the shock cord keeps your Carrie Cover secure.

I have a full mooring cover for a 38 TG with a windscreen made from Sunbrella I am interested in selling. It has pockets for front and rear cleat's and a pocket for the shore power plug. Excellent condition, not a flaw inthis cover. Here are a few pics, sorry if the quality is not that great.

I dont have a windscreen do you think that it would still fit properly??? I would really like to see the cover in person is it on your dock?? I am at the four mm and will probably be down in the next couple of weeks. Pm me if it is with your phone number and directions to your house.

Thanks,

Tony Pogrelis

Sure, the cover would fit fine but you would have to consider that the pocket that would ordinarily be filled with the windscreen would kinda just lay loose up top.

Yes, the cover is currently on the boat and the boat is located at the 1 mm on the north shore from Bagnel dam. Not far from you at all. I will be down the 2nd weekend of April if you would like to meet up there. Will send PM. Thanks Tony.
btw, we met briefly late last season at petro in Kingdom City, we had our rigs parked next to each other, remember?

I do remember..... its a small world. Just bout a place on the 4mm northshore off of w-12. I have been looking for a good light cover but do not want a carrie cover. A freind has one and it tore the first year and they would not replace it they just patched it....

eichhoma 03-31-2008 11:30 AM

Keep in mind, this cover is made from Sunbrella. It is a great cover, durable, etc. Its biggest downside is that it is kinda heavy. Let me know if you will be down the 2nd weekend of April, you are welcome to come by and check it out.
