Nice CAFE!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-...QQcmdZViewItem Nice looking Cafe!!!! anyone know the history on this one?? 74mph seems slow for that kind of power. I'd take $95,000 for mine.

id see the boat behind my condo in miami all the time... nice redo....

buy it now 95k?..... eh..... no

Hollowpoint 04-18-2008 09:28 AM

To quote Dreamer....
eh....no....
Need more complete info but I think way to much money.
There was a thread on here a few months back with a guy that redid his Cafe (I think) with an absolute awesome paint job in the silver/purple with ghosts. With the right engines I'd pay 95K for that (If I had 95K :) ) .

CigDaze 04-18-2008 09:35 AM

Big money for an '89

seafordguy 04-18-2008 09:40 AM

If I am not mistaken that boat has been on ebay several times over the last year.

I'm luke warm on the graphics and I'd spend 95K on a lot of other boats first. From the soudns of it the engines are now 8 years old....

I keep seeing these Cafe's with big power claiming 75mph, I would think they should go better. I have 500HP with a set of CMI's and 24 pitch bravos and a see 74mph consistantly

I like the H2 tow rig......

I will sell mine for $95K as well.

I saw that thing launching at Spinnaker Marina in Nov. I had to do a double take before I realized it was a Cafe. Nice re-do. 75 with 1200hp...Maybe cruising speed. They'll do 73 or so with 500efi's WTF??

I don't see 70 with 500 carbs. 69.8 so far on freshwater.

Rebarbox has a cafe with #3's and 750's and I think he see's right at 80 or so.

I agree with you from a conservative standpoint.

I have 502's with Weiand 177's on them and I don't think I see much over 74, 75.

They are just heavy flat bottoms.......

Seafordguy I know your boat it was at my marina, but what is your total HP? My boat is a bravo set up 500 HP Dart intakes CMI's ditched the water pumps and replaced with cross overs. With 2 guys in a 2-3 chop 1/2 tank of fuel it will do 74mph. The boat with full tank of fuel 4 people in flat water will only do 70mph. Water conditions make a big improvement in speed. I boat in Long Island Sound where there is almost always a chop.

I heard the boats run a little better in salt then fresh water? Also the Cafe with #3's is carrying more weight with the tranny's and it also sucks up some of the hp.
