Top Gun 1995 - HEAD - help needed

I've some problems with my head .

Does anybody knows how it works ?

we have 2 buttons , one is to start the engine , and the other one ??

I've tried to push them booth , but the water don't arrive from the sea ...I can hear the pump noise ..but no water ..
after some work , the fuse skip .

what I have to do ?? :(

SKRAMER 05-05-2008 10:26 AM

I think the second button is for the maserator. Make sure the shut off valve is open if your head gets its water from outside.( should be under the starboard seat in the cabin)

Yes - on the Right Side. You will need to open the valve on the incoming water hose side, and push the botton that does NOT run the macerator. That pulls the water in and "flushes" the toilet.

Then when you go to dump the system you open the other valve and run the macerator pumping everything overboard.

Before someone else jumps in and says it - be sure to follow local rules and regulations:D

So ..it's not like all others boat heads ...I have to run after piss ..from toilette to cabin and back ..
open and close valves ...

I can piss out from the swimm platform !:D

If I push it (flush button) the water let in by an electric engine ?? If Yes...doesn't work it..:(

No - there is a holding tank. You just have to have that one valve open to let water IN. Then you can pump it out whenever. I don't think the holding tank is but a few gallons though so only let your "important" friends use it because it will fill relatively quickly.

I'll try next WE..:hitfan:

MickeyBoy -

We only let the ladies use the toilet in the US and they have to leave the door open and sit on it with there legs sticking out the door. The Men go over the side....that's the rules

Mike, be very careful using the head. I'd say most don't use their heads because it will usually ALWAYS have a smell after the first time it's used. My head has NEVER been used. No toilet smell in our boat;)

Mikey - I would be sure to get a deodarizer that you can pour down the toilet to combat this. I do and it works pretty well at keeping the smell under control.

Wanna bet the holding tank leaks? They all do.

Open both valves (in & out) and see if water comes in and out when you flush. Make sure you close the exit valve (larger one) and push the buttons again. 15-20 seconds. Watch the bilge for any water. If no water in bilge, you're holding it in the tank. The tanks are small so don't go crazy. Pump it out or push it overboard when out at sea. If you need to access the tank, it's in the head, under the storage compartment.

I think what usually makes the odor is the holding tank...not really the toilet so much. I know it's against the rules but I replumbed mine so it bypasses the grinder pump and the holding tank and goes straight overboard. VERY strict rules on my boat- Pee ONLY and paper in the trash bag hanging on the wall.
This system has worked well for me...and no smell if you flush well before closing the boat up for the week.

The one I use is very similar. The rule is that if a woman forgets to put her paper in the bag then she has to go topless the rest of the day. That works for most...but some want to do that anyway!!

Thanks CIG3, had some questions and found this in the search feature about the head plumbing.

The head in our boat has not been used in years. I was gaining water in the bilge while underway. Turns out I had a bad water inlet sea cock for the head and the holding tank had been removed years ago but the head outlet had never been plugged. She was shipping water into the bilge!

Funny you brought this to the front. I have been chasing a leak in the bilge for most of the time I have had the boat. Pulled engines/drives/transom assemblies and replaced everything.

Finally realized after all that that the toilet was leaking. Fixed the leaking hose only to have the pump start blowing fuse - luckily this thread shows the pump plumbing and I can most likely just replace the Pump and solve the problem.

Thanks...
