Cafe Steering Problem

Have a 94 Cafe here in the UK.Steering has always been stiff since I purchased late last year.I have just replaced the pump, control valve and booster cylinder thanks to Dave at Powerhose Marine. At the moment there is no improvement - any ideas???. Just a couple of other questions. Should the polarity light be illuminated when the shore power is connected?
Any pics of a GPS fitted would be a help.
Have a good 4th July.

My GPS is a smaller unit - I think a Garmin 276 series. It is mounted angled in towards the driver, to the right of the compass - very well placed in my opinion - just have to make sure the antenna is folded in when you put the cover on.

I don't have any lights on when I plug into shore power so I think you have an issue there.

I would seriously consider (even though I know it is expensive), buying a nice used external steering system. I believe there are a couple in classifieds. The feeling of the steering will be unbeliveable - just like power steering in a car.

disconnect the cable at the steer rack and try and turn the wheel.

If its still tight its the cable.

I am sure it is your steering cables. You can even buy the external steering just for the back( not up to helm)
