Top gun cabin door latch

My buddy's 1988 top gun has a non-original cabin door latch. He would like to make it original again. First, does anyone have a picture of a 1988 top gun cabin door latch. And second where can he get the assembly.

Thanks Kris Vogt

You talking about the one at the floor that's on all the Top Guns, Cafe's and Tigers from 88 to 00?

That's a perko product I believe.

If you're talking about the handle itself, Id say it may be perko too.

The Lip Ship ones are better though!

I crack myself up. :)

Clarify which latch you are looking for and I will take pictures of what is on my '88 TG and get you the Perko # for it this weekend. I've been ordering all of my Perko stuff from boatfix.com.

Are you talkign about the door latch that screws into the driver's helm??

If so I also am in need of one....

Hey OldSchool - is that a Perko product as well?

I'm not sure what you are talking about either!! Is it the sliding cabin door's latch? Is it the latch on the door to the head? Is it the door to the storage compartments?

My Bullet had a little access panel right under the steering wheel. My TG doesn't.

I won't speak for him but I think we are both talking about the same cabin door latch.

When you slide the cabin door SHUT it snags on the latch that I am talking about. Not the piece that is built into the cabin door, but the latch that it actually catches on....

I talked to my buddy and it is the part that Oldschool and Seafordguy are refering to. A Perko part number would be great.

Thanks for all the responses.

Part number or a picture would help a bunch.

Thanks Kris Vogt

I'm running our boat this week. I'll take a pic. Assuming it's the same one. The bottom locking latch and the door handle/lock

Is this the latch you are referring to?

Zero Patience 09-29-2008 07:45 PM

I have had to braze additional material onto mine to keep it working. It wears.

That is the one I need - I have something laying in my toolbox that someone tried to fab up but it doesn't come anywhere close to fitting.

That is the latch my buddy is missing, but I can't see it well enough in the photo to help him find a replacement.

Thanks Kris Vogt

Tha is the only pic I could find that showed it. When I go down this weekend, i will try to get a better pic and some info off of it.

I'm sorry, I did look at the one on my boat but didn't take a picture. There are no numbers or anything on it. It looks like a catch for a storm door!! I'll take some pictures this evening and post them for you....If it's not raining again!

Found this oldie and was looking for the same catch that the cabin door latches into. Anyone remember where to get these?
