Thinking of taking the engines and drives off my cat and building one. Would it work? Do you think the money would be right in the end?

Changed it to a running boat auction. Giving it away at this pricing.

Just time for some room in the shop and pay down some debt.

Offers from OSO brothers considered.

lake cumberland has a 38 gun for #6s.. thats been around forever needs a alot of work... few burnt out ones that were projects for some people, threads should be floating around somewhere...

stecz20 10-06-2008 09:29 PM

stecz20 10-06-2008 11:16 PM

scratch the lake cumberland boat its a straight bottom... sorry...

SKRAMER 10-07-2008 06:26 AM

I don't think I've seen any... Will keep any eye out...

jeff1000man 10-07-2008 06:54 AM

A tein step 38 Scarab hull would be fun also.

Boomer35 10-07-2008 08:44 AM

2000 carbon fiber hull, F2 top gun, 80k with trailer, drives, and no motors, 73k hull with trailer, no motors or drives. 70k no trailer, no motors, no drives.... its Maxx if you search other threads you will find pics

the motors were pulled out last week, so she is ready to go

no need to comment on price, tire kick, or call with offer, the boat is paid for and is of no urgency to sell, if it does good, if not, thats good too

there is a pair of real low hour, merc 500 EFI's in the classifieds for like 23k, you drpo those in and you have a 2000 carbon fiber gun on a trailer with good blue power for 103k, if your a cabin guy you bring it to phil at lip ship and for 10k you have a brand new cabin, i'd say 113k is pretty reasonable for all that

stecz20 10-07-2008 12:26 PM

i like that..... hmmmmm interesting... seee jeff, this is what i meant, you will see some peeps wanna make different moves......

I remember this post because I asked the guy why he is not selling with power and he said noone would pay for those engines.

sht sorry for the double post. I dont remember the thread but I remember talking to some one about getting 540's with 600 hp and 600 tq for 15Kea. He and I went round and round about that. Maybe I am mistaken and it wasnt your boat but I remember someone propsed the hull should sell for 60 and I was thinking I could have it up and running for under 100K.

drpete3 10-07-2008 02:18 PM

does this ring a bell?

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...d.php?t=194621

But this is not the thread I am thinking of therefore not the boat I was thinking of. HMMMm that means I have seen another boat where the guy is pulling his motors. I cant remember which boat though. Ill keep digging.

Great project boat to start with, decent repower idea considering the money spent and reasonable investment considering the end product. I like the way you proposed the project.

You are thinking of Kool-Aids original thread on selling his boat. Look for the thread he started last month on selling the boat minus power.

glassdave 10-07-2008 06:07 PM

I have a line on an 01 T/S Gun that can be had in the high 90's. 500EFI's and is a pretty nice boat (not perfect though), owner needs it gone. PM me if interested and i will see if i can get some more info. I will see the boat next weekend and can get some pics if necessary.

drpete3 10-07-2008 06:50 PM

Sorry Boomer. I am mistaken. It was Koolaids boat I was thinking of. He is selling his with out power(not a T/S). That thread must have been active about the same time yours was.

I didn't know they made a TS in 2001. I thought it was an 02.

I am not really in a hurry, but that doesn't sound like a bad idea if it a TS.

2000 was the transition year from the straight bottom to the single to the T/S. Most of 2001's were T/S's. 35's, 38's, 42's, ect...

dreamer 10-07-2008 08:58 PM

single step were 5- 6 in 99-00

t/s started mid 2000.....

The two that you posted are $168,500 and $181,500. I seriously doubt they can be bought in the high $90's?
