It's easy to assume the crash was driver error considering so many have happened that way.

I don't know why so many people are shocked that under-qualified operators purchase these things and then crash them. It's been happening for years with exotic cars. I remember when Porsche introduced the 930 turbo to the US market. Many, many of them were destroyed- and almost everyone crashed backwards. Guys with no concept of vehicle dynamics figured they could blaze around just like they used to in their big-block Corvettes.

In the 911 Turbos/ 930's they called it trailing throttle oversteer! They were known as Dr. Killers back in the day. Too much weight hanging over the rear axle combined with wicked turbo lag/spool and they would easily switch ends!

Yes,

I am meeting with a group during the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. The dates and countries are to be determined but Norway, Turkey, and Spain are currently on the list. I am trying to get the Dubai group together as well.

I will keep you posted on developments.

I want to redeem my coupon for my class in Dubai. That would be fun. What do you say to that Mr Safety dude ??

Any one know if and where the article is on this accident?

Rik 10-17-2008 12:20 AM

How safe are these 38' Twin Step Top Guns?

Seems there are a lot of spin outs and rolls. Is there an inherit problem where the rear slides out if the boat is not trimmed correctly for the turns?
