I have to say it looks like a very nice boat and the repaint looks great. But from a buyers point of view that black deck is a automatic walk away. If only the deck was white or silver it would almost be perfect. Good luck Scott.
|
If the paint was done by Mitch you know it was done right and as close to perfect as it gets!
|
I see the boat is on Ebay, things that make you go Hmmmmm? I guess there was a bit of trouble with the power.
I like the red, but it must be Hot in the summer |
...
There is no trouble with power and all are welcome to structural or mechanical survey.
We are trying to make room for boats coming in. Regards, Team Shogren www.teamshogren.com |

wow, that is like a mirror! 8 days left on a "No Reserve" auction and its only at $25K....bid up boys.
|
Badass indeed!
|
It will be interested to see what it goes for and a good indication just how bad the performance market really is.
all black isnt going to help but the deck could always be painted. |
I agree, it will be interesting to see what the boat goes for. People want to see where the market is going. The buyers with money are buying newer boats with stock power and a clear history.
|
You cannot gauge the market value on anything by somones high bid on ebay. Boats don't do **** on ebay. It is mainly an advertising tool to get the phone to ring. If this boat stalls on ebay it is not an accurate indication of where the market is really at. Lets smarten up a little bit. My 2 cents anyway.
RAF |
You are 100% Correct!!!
Not your 2 cents, you are 100% CORRECT. There is no other or better way to advertise a boat to the entire world for $17.00.

Yes, I got an email from Shogren. They said they have the right to end the auction early because its for sale at the shop.
They say they have interested parties interested in a trade. The auction, I am sure, will never end with a boat sale. Just advertisement. So the No Reserve clause is just another advertisment tool. and here we are talking about it. |

Ebay is a great tool fro many reasons.
We sell quite a few boats on EBAY and at the same time are a dealer retailing boats. There has been alot of interest on the boats we have on Ebay and a couple of them will be sold for sure before the auctions end. We are making room for the 09's we have coming in so they are inside for the winter and with EBAY you do not have trades which will help this situation. We are buying boats monthly off the street and from other dealers so you will see alot of activity on EBAY this fall and winter from our delaership.

But if they pull it off because it doesn't look like it is going to hit the number they want for it, that's B.S. |

Why is that BS?? Its a marketing tool... after the auction ends, the phone starts ringing and the emails start coming in. Say its BS when you are trying to sell a boat.

By listing it has a "no reserve" auction they should be willing to sell it for whatever it goes up to. Not play games and pull it off if it doesn't hit a number they want.

Its all about marketing what you got to sell. Like I said, you obviously never tried to sell anything on eBay that you *needed* to sell.... so if you put your boat up for sale on eBay you would let it go for thousands less eh? If the auction didnt run up as yo would have liked it to?? Just for the sake of doing right by others?? I seriously doubt that. Its just business. Getting the most eyes on your product and selling for as much as it will go for. That is what everyone is after. You have the "buyers mentality"... Once you are the seller, you will feel differently.

Owning a black Scarab for 3 years...
Let me tell you it takes a special person and location to own a black boat. Look at it this way.. NO ONE WALKS ACROSS IT AT PARTY COVE.. :evilb: |
Shogren
If I put my boat or anything else for sale on Ebay and had to have a certain number for it, I wouldn't have done a no reserve auction. If it's just for marketing than put it up with a reserve.

Yep
Amen, and I bet there are alot of dealers out there that would sell there businesses and let others run just the way they wanted as long as there check cleared.
Before conclusions are drawn, lets see where auctions go, at this point if we cancel an auction it will only be a few. There are alot of good deals out there to be had for all. Team Shogren Fountain & Baja By Fountain www.teamshogren.com

You still get your exposure . Ever watch Barret Jackson???? |
I still think it looks great, and the interior design is cool. You could easily put the white "90MPH" stripe on it with red outlines, and have a small cool walkway to the bow of the boat. It was a nice side effect to my old Gun painted solid red with the stripe to be able to access the bow without frying your feet!
I bought a boat off of ebay a few months ago for the first time. It had been on and off a few times with no reserve due to poor bids, which I had no problem with. I wouldn't "give" my stuff away to someone that put in a $5k intial bid in on a $100k (or whatever) asset, and neither would anyone else with any sense at all. I ended up with it in the end because they needed it gone regarless of the loss. I would have never known about the boat if it hadn't been on ebay, and they weren't having luck selling it beforehand. People whine just as bad when someone lists a boat with their bottom dollar as the reserve, because it takes away the fantasy of "stealing" it. They just end up harrassing the seller to find out the reserve, then lowball that number anyway. |

Someone told me the boat is still for sale.
Nice looking ride for the coin |
Kinda figured by the lack of response from Shogren.
It would have been one hell of a deal. |
