Don't be too sure about that.

Steve did like some members more than others.

And I'm actually referring to others posting here, not myself.

Thats true, but I thought he liked to keep the individual forums on target and let the GD/ Bilge run out at their own pace.
I think the thread is great, makes Rob look like a master detective sleuthing about. Did he tell you that you are a bartender yet? :drink: Those screen names can be tricky for some people.......

Funny, when Steve was around this thread wouldn't have survived the first day nevermind the first week. It may have moved to the bilge but wouldn't have stayed here.

I figured I'd just let you guys fight it out. It's been brewing for awhile, and I don't see any of the issues being debated ending by moving or deleting the thread. I also catch chit from the people involved, and viewers, when I get rid of these in the beginning. It's always a double edged sword.

I will put it away if you want me to though. I just thought you'd want to get it all out. Let me know.

What should be put away is the constant negative comments about Cigarette values in the Cigarette forum. There is a time and place and this is not the place.

As much as I agree with you, I can't do a lot about that. All of the manufacturer forums have this same issue on some level. Telling someone you won't pay what someone is asking isn't bad. Telling someone they're nuts, or that their boat isn't "worth" what they listed the price at is another issue. I think the guys ripping the sellers publically, look much worse than an optimistic selling price.

I think it's really bad tact to spew negative "opinions" all over an internet forum about someone elses equipment. If there is a problem with the history of a boat that isn't being divulged (sunk, wrecked, etc), then by all means tell us about it. If you aren't comfortable with paying what someone is selling their boat for, keep it to yourself, you don't have to buy it.

It will be interesting to see IF some of the guys looking for steals end up buying one, but more importantly, what will THEY be asking in a few years for the boat they think they stole?

These threads will still be there to reference (assuming OSO is!). :drink:

Leave it up so it can be resurrected in the future! :drink:

It can be a quick way to stir the posts this winter with Rob!

Brandon I agree with all of what you said. The only thing I shouldn't have done was mentioning Randy's boat (different thread) but I was using it as a reference. I was trying to bring to light something you brought up in this thread, "when a big dealer was selling boats like mad it made a few manufacturers get a little overpriced on their new boats (04-05) and now that trend has reversed." You said it in a more polished way, I tend to be more blunt.

Ain't no thang to me JP. Only you can decide which boat deal is right for you. It's not like you're the ONLY one to ruffle feathers with this issue, you're just the most recent.:food-smiley-007:

Yes, the National Marine disaster really put people who bought from them in a horrible position. I think it really hurt the manufacturer's involved as well. When they were buying the boats for MUCH more from the factory, selling at lower margins, and giving ENORMOUS trade value to the customer, everyone was getting a new boat! Some really never saw through the curtain, and honestly thought it would never end.

It's amazing how bad National messed up the industry in a relatively short amount of time.
