When they say welcome to the family they mean it. You're family. You're bound to upset each other now and then. But at the end of the day, you're still family. So if you've talked things out, apologies have been made or steps have been taken to right what was wrong, let it go. Holding grudges and harboring resentment will only push you further apart and make the next argument even worse. Step back take a look, assess whether you feel the arguing parties are genuine in their forgiveness of each other and whether the situation has been resolved. If not, keep at it until it's done.

Velocity Vector 10-25-2008 12:04 AM

:drink:Value everyone's opinions. It is likely that everyone has an opinion on the argument or has been affected by it, even if they are not directly one of the arguing parties. Sit in a circle and hold hands or on level ground to indicate that everyone in the family has feelings that are worth the same and give every member of the family, no matter how stupid or deformed, a chance to speak up if they feel the need to. To the family:ernaehrung004:

Velocity Vector 10-25-2008 01:17 AM

Tibido was talking to Boodrow. "Boodrow, look out there to the field. Do ya see that fence? Look how well it's built. I built that fence stone by stone with my own two hands. I piled it for months. But do they call me Tibido the Fence-Builder? Nooo.."

"Then Tibido gestured at the bar. "Boodrow, Look here at the bar. Do ya see how smooth and just it is? I planed that surface down by my own achin' back. I carved that wood with me own hard labor, for eight days. But do they call me Tibido-the-Bar-builder? Nooo..."

Then Tibido points out the window. "Eh, Boodrow, look out to sea. Do ya see that pier that stretches out as far as the eye can see? I built that pier with the sweat off my back. I nailed it board by board. But do they call me Tibido-the-Pier-Builder? Nooo..."

Then Tibido looks around nervously, trying to make sure no one is paying attention. "But ya screw one goat..."
On a final thought though..... has anyone seen any foreign countries offering to assist us in our time of need?

I heard on Opra that the human male pen!s is huge compared to the pen!s / size ratio of all the other animals. My question is "what does this say about the women folk out there?" I been there when it felt like I opened french doors and tried to screw the world. Then you buy them a kagel muscle work out video and they get all offended and stuff and say, mean things like "I may not have the problem, it may be a combination of other small things, flip the light off needel dick"

The funny thing is that I place buyers and sellers of boats and boat parts together all the time. And, I don't want any cash for doing it. If I can help someone sell something or help someone buy something, putting the deal together and making two people happy is enough satisfaction for me. This is a hobby for me and I like to help and support anyone who shares my strong addiction to performance boats and performance boating .

I just did the same for a member trying to locate a boat he wanted to make an offer on. He tried for weeks, I located it, and the owners info, in 15 minutes.

I did it because we try to help each other. Hell, I even take pot-shots at him on here for fun. But he's a brother member and that's enough for me.

pm203 10-25-2008 08:33 PM

Like I always say, there are very few people screwed up enough to buy a 35-40 foot boat with an 8 foot beam that costs more than most homes that you can't eat, sleep or chit on. If you are one of these individuals, you are screwed up and part of the family. :D

Funny, when Steve was around this thread wouldn't have survived the first day nevermind the first week. It may have moved to the bilge but wouldn't have stayed here.

Thats true, but I thought he liked to keep the individual forums on target and let the GD/ Bilge run out at their own pace.
I think the thread is great, makes Rob look like a master detective sleuthing about. Did he tell you that you are a bartender yet? :drink: Those screen names can be tricky for some people.......

I figured I'd just let you guys fight it out. It's been brewing for awhile, and I don't see any of the issues being debated ending by moving or deleting the thread. I also catch chit from the people involved, and viewers, when I get rid of these in the beginning. It's always a double edged sword.

I will put it away if you want me to though. I just thought you'd want to get it all out. Let me know.

What should be put away is the constant negative comments about Cigarette values in the Cigarette forum. There is a time and place and this is not the place.

As much as I agree with you, I can't do a lot about that. All of the manufacturer forums have this same issue on some level. Telling someone you won't pay what someone is asking isn't bad. Telling someone they're nuts, or that their boat isn't "worth" what they listed the price at is another issue. I think the guys ripping the sellers publically, look much worse than an optimistic selling price.

I think it's really bad tact to spew negative "opinions" all over an internet forum about someone elses equipment. If there is a problem with the history of a boat that isn't being divulged (sunk, wrecked, etc), then by all means tell us about it. If you aren't comfortable with paying what someone is selling their boat for, keep it to yourself, you don't have to buy it.

It will be interesting to see IF some of the guys looking for steals end up buying one, but more importantly, what will THEY be asking in a few years for the boat they think they stole?

These threads will still be there to reference (assuming OSO is!). :drink:

Brandon I agree with all of what you said. The only thing I shouldn't have done was mentioning Randy's boat (different thread) but I was using it as a reference. I was trying to bring to light something you brought up in this thread, "when a big dealer was selling boats like mad it made a few manufacturers get a little overpriced on their new boats (04-05) and now that trend has reversed." You said it in a more polished way, I tend to be more blunt.

Ain't no thang to me JP. Only you can decide which boat deal is right for you. It's not like you're the ONLY one to ruffle feathers with this issue, you're just the most recent.:food-smiley-007:

Yes, the National Marine disaster really put people who bought from them in a horrible position. I think it really hurt the manufacturer's involved as well. When they were buying the boats for MUCH more from the factory, selling at lower margins, and giving ENORMOUS trade value to the customer, everyone was getting a new boat! Some really never saw through the curtain, and honestly thought it would never end.

It's amazing how bad National messed up the industry in a relatively short amount of time.
