I am always interested in the top speed aspect but would also like to be able to pull a skier once in a while I am looking fo a good all around performer but the rooster of the Blackhawk sure looks cool I am also on a budget of sorts and after pricing the interior and drives I am about $5,000 over it so far so I think the ITS setup woould kill me LOL |
I ran a 1995 20 with a Bravo 3 and Bravo 1. The three ran straight but was a bit touchy around the docks. The Bravo 1 was a better set up but it did have the list issue. The benefits outweighed the listing issue. A little tab fixed it. Mid range and top were great. Low end did not seem to suffer much with the single prop. It had the pad type bottom. I wanted to try the Blackhawk but never had an opportunity to.

If the 20' will run with a Blackhawk then it will run with a proper surface drive. |
depending on the hull you have plenty of choices, the older hulls have rocker built in to run any surface drive, the newer style has a pad. You can run an its and a shorty with long tabs and be very safe, lots of phils did this, the ones that are going for top speed run blackhawks and its...I'm not sure if I would want to be the skier fighting the rooster from a blackhawk or an asd...there isnt enough room for a BB, and a tranny in the bilge.

the hull is a 72 so no pad.yes the blackhawk would be wrong choice for a skier.
So my choices may be either av bravo or a bravo 3 What is the x dim for a blackhawk versus a bravo and bravo could it be rigged for a bravo and be able to swap a blackhawk on? |
what about the new BIII with the shorty?

I will be having a complete rebuild thread on www.seriousoffshore.com coming in the next month or so, we just wanted to have plenty of pics to keep it going and interesting with not much lag time. I can also get pm's over there. some of the other things Dave and I are doing is making the sections to convert the older 20's over to a new style dash and cowl with having it pre made to cut down on others build time, and a new raised blower hatch with a pad as well as an integrated cooler w/ drain |

Mike Baldwin has a 20 with a Big Block / Borg Warner set up. It may be a 71c as they are an inch shorter than a 72c. |

Hey Klaw,
Here is a thread on Donzi.net that someone switched a blackhawk off of a Cig 20 with a Bravo I and an IMCO shorty. http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthre...ackhawk+cig+20  |
