Thanks for the info.
If this is still around towards spring I might have to check it out. The only issue is towing as I just bought an 08 2500. I've been planning on a 28, but with deals like this..... It sure looks like a nice boat - any interior pics Fandango? I would budget for Hydraulic Steering. |

HEAVY CHIT MAN
The only place the 2500 was weak was the hitch. You'll need a WD setup, or you'll be taxing the limits on the rear tires with the heavy tongue weight. However, I believe all three were rated at 12,000lbs on a factory ball but moved above 16,000lbs with an upgraded hitch. The 3500 dually was nice because no WD setup- just hook and go. However, the dually was not much more stable in the rear than the 2500 with the WD bars on- go figure. I personally would not hesitate to use a 2500 (8.1 or Duramax- no 6.0) to pull a Cafe'. |
I have plenty of pics but need to find. Will post.

I've towed mine with a 2500/8.1 gas, 2500/6.6 Duramax, and a 3500/6.6 Duramax dually. The 2500 and 3500 had the same powertrain.

Mine's an 08, so no big block option, so I have the "stupid" 6.0 gasser. On the other hand, 90% of my towing will be a 20 min trip from storage to the lake. Only extended travel would be the random road trip. I'd be really pushing it powertrain wise, but the truck could "handle it" as well as the d-max. |

Having said that, you'll definately be over the limit with a steel trailer (but closer with an aluminum trailer). The truck can handle it- but that poor drivetrain will be cursing at you on any hills...lol. |

Overall, I think I'm better off with a newer smaller boat still, even with deals like this. Hopefully by spring a deal on a 28 (Pantera or AT maybe) will be just right. |
did somone here buy it? No longer on the salty dog

Got a pm from an OSO's who looked at it about a week ago and said it was rough (something like I would cry if I saw it).

Ed but for $40k, i cant see being too upset. ours was $15k more (back in march) & the berth interior needed to be completely redone. i cant imagine this one being any worse, & at least a $15k head start. lol. |
