575's or 525's
Alright i was going to post this in the general section but since the motors are going to be in a Cigarette we can just keep the conversation to us.
This is more for my cousin because he's looking at stepping up from his Cafe into a TG or Tiger. Can we get some pros and cons on the 575's and 525's. I here the shelf life of the 525 is much longer then the 575 in regards to rebuild time. It also seems like their are some deals to be had on some 575 boats and is that because they are a less desirable package to have? |
I like my 575s!!! Only got to take out 2 times because of this @#$!%# cold azz weather, So maybe I am not an expert but the Blowers sure LOOK badazz and they sound pretty good too.
Now where is this Global Warming I keep hearing about. Quinlan |
This has already been askes in another thread, most people who have 575's love tehm and say they are better, and the people with the 525's will say the same thing about there motor. I prefer the 575, the fuel injection is nice in the 525's but the 575's run like hell and there is an easy H.P. upgrade you can do to get 630+ HP out of them.
But I have to be honest .. I never had either of them, s owhat the hell do I really know !:drink: |
love my 575s, 525s have header issues, thats all i know about both, have him look at my boat
|
575's Brother!!!
|
575's:party-smiley-004:
|
525's for me, I think they are more desireable(to most) and bring more $.
|
both great.. 525s run 89 575s run 91 and on boost EAT SOME GAS!!! but easy to get 600+ hp
|
525's run on 87 not 89. makes it real easy to find gas. Mine run better on 87 than 89.

575's:cool:

Ask Wild... something to do with a smaller pulley on the supercharger and re-programming the ECU.. nothing internal ..from what I understand, But Randy will know for sure .
http://www.azspeed-marine.com/me575sciboki.html easy way to get HP cheap, cheaper than an inercooler |
If you are using in salt, 525,s for their closed cooling.

I had a 575's boat and ran it to 145 hours with no problems and than I sold it. I personally would prefer 525's because they are currently produced where the 575's arent. I would assume not being supercharged and with the closed cooling that they also would have a longer shelf life. But in saying that if I could save 10 or 15 grand in buying the same boat I would take the 575's.
|
I have had both... I love the sound of a blower but 525's are more desirable. Much easier to sell. Much more reliable. And if you run Dustins 93 oct tune they put out 590hp. Parts? They do not make 575's any more. The blowers have to be rebuilt and are exspensive. I used to keep an extra blower for that. Besides all the 01-03 cigs that have 575's have those giant scoops that make the sun deck useless and date the boat!!!

575's 135Hrs. More hrs over 100mph than under. 0 problems. I have the Arizona Kit.

525 for sure. Closed cooling with aluminum heads. Throw some good AFR heads on there and your at ~620hp no prob, totally reliable and on 89 octane.
|
had them both to me one is about as good as the other.. it seemed to me the 575 used more fuel.. not a big differance in performance..
