hp,speed on bullets cafes & flat bottom guns
I would like to know hp and speeds GPS on bullets cafes and flat bottom guns. From what i've seen or heard they are all realatively close in how much power to push them.
My bullet ran 71 to 72 in smooth water and 75 in big water when it had 500s and i think clays bullet runs about the same. Mine now has 625, and runs 80. A friend of mines gun runs 85 with 750s, same guy had a bullet with 725 and it ran 85. I have heard flat bottom guns and cafes run about 70 to 72mph with 500s is this true?:food-smiley-007: |
My bullet ran 83 with approx 625's
My straight-bottom Top Gun ran 109 when it had 1250's in it.:drink: |

Our Kevlar Gun with SC600s always ran low 80s and with 850's ran low to mid 90s.

hmm, i really need to get my speedo fixed this summer. if u are doing 68 w/ 425hp, i should be able to hit low 70s w/ my 525-550hp.
I cannot recall pitch and so forth but I think it was in the 24" range, I could be wrong, it was a while back. Maybe if you search Cafe Props and so forth you might find older posts with all that information. |
90 Cafe.
Fresh 502's with Small Weiand Blowers, all Roller Drivetrain, 850 Nickerson Carbs, Bravo's, 4 Blade 26's I "THINK" I am in the 575 hp range, and the fastest I have seen yet was in some decently rough water - 72mph. Of course this was chock FULL of FUEL and everything for my wife and I to stay two nights - (clothes, coolers, ice, liquor, soda, dock chairs in the nose etc...). I think that someone who knew what the hell they were doing could squeeze a couple more mph out of it.... My wallet precludes me from running it hard!! |

I might throw them on this year though just to be easier on the drives when I have a boat full. |
I'm about with Seaford. 454's with 250 Blowers not dynoed, guessing around 550-570HP a side. Low to mid 70's at about 5100rpm.

5050's boat runs great. Used to be scary until he put full hydraulic steering on it!

95 kelvar gun
502 500hp cmi header carb low to mid 70's salt water, also depend a lot on wind, tide and current 26 pitch 4 blade some people say 3 to 5mph more on salt water |
My straight bottom Top Gun ran 75-77 depending on the day, and had 550 Hawks with TRS drives.
It's worth noting that the Hawk power I had was TERRIBLE, so I question how much HP they actually were making. They were basically a 454 Mag with a B&M 250 Blower, GIL manifolds, dual carb. |

Not a Top Gun, but my 35 Mistress runs 70. I spin the props out for control and docking. Props in the boat ran 75 with 26" 4 blades at 5300 RPM.
