Cigarettes with Whipples...
My own curiosity:
Modern Cigarette 38 TG/TS (CG cabin) with 525s, Whipples, and BRAVO derivative drives; how fast? Has anyone done the same with a 39TG? I know all about 700s/NXTs. I am just curious if the above setup has ever been done. |

Yep, paper is one thing, but the shape of the drives/bullets, weight of the transmissions, and overall setup of the boat is WAY different.
That's why I asked specifically about the Whipple/525/B1"x" setup. BTW... "x" refers to variable, not the Bravo1X drive. |

I am with you, I was just saying I have seend the 525's with whipples make around 690+- so on paper it is the same.
Curious to see what else is said here also |
ITS, short stagger, XR, Teague, BMAX, Imco, whatever...
Any Bravo derivative setup. |
think some side by side boats went 102
|
have they done a 700 nxt side by side? thats a good question
|
if a tiger with 575's its and teague xrs does 86, I'm sure the TG would be low to mid 90's depending on the whipple, the 5.0 or the 3.3.
5.0 would be mid to upper 90's and the 3.3 would be low to mid. the only short stagger boats are the older ones like fat boy. It would prob be side by side. |
I rode in a new 39' hustler with the 700's and NXT's that showed 104 on the GPS.
How does it compare to the 39' TG? I have seen a lot of those advertised rigged with that package. |
A 525 with a 3.3 liter Whipple is gonna make at least 700 hp.
My guess is a T/S Gun should be close to 100 with shorties and no boxes. Throw boxes on it and maybe 100+. Isn't there a guy selling a T/S in the classifieds with Vortechs claiming 100 mph?? http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o26220-en.html |

ETA: I do remember this boat had the custom extension boxes that Phil had built. If I remember correctly it was ITS that he extended. |

Phil had a side by side TG with either 650 or 675 Zuls that went 102. They were working on getting more air to the engine compartment and thought there still might be one or two mph left in it.

The boat had 675 Zuls and Phil did a 5" extension in addition to the ITS to make a full 12" setback. Philly said the boat was very fast!

Sounds like a drive breaker. Go with the NXT's if you can.
