41 Cigarette - in 1984?
Found on eBay - a 1984 41 Cigarette rigged with diesels and Arnesons. Did Cig make a 41 in 1984? I don't think I've ever heard of one before.
|
There were only a few of them made, and pretty sure the model name was the "Attack".
|
Any good pictures of them? The one in that ad looks like a fixer upper.
|
There's a nice one here on our lake refurbed with new Cat Diesels & #5's. Pretty sweet "express cruiser", especially if you really macked out the interior.
|
Guess I have not seen this one yet. Will be looking for it now.

It's been on the lake forever. It's the bigger "Come on America" boat with the arch. The other one is a 36 Wide body. :drink: |
That boat has been for sale on eBay for several years. The "new" un-used engines may need a european mechanic!:drink:
|
I was thinking the same thing - if you're gonna go diesels, how about something someone here has at least heard of, Detroits, Cats, Cummins, something...
|
Back in the 80s magnum used alot of issota fracini diesels.
They were lighter, more powerful and higher revving(iirc) than comparable engines. I'm sure Katrin Theodoli could point you to a mechanic. |
A 41 with #3's was tough on drives. Add arnesons and you have a great package and awesome cruiser.
|
I have one of these Cigarette´s here in Sweden, and it is being updated and renovated. It has the cat´s and ssm3# but the drives are updated to 3a´s, maybe it won´t tear them down as fast as the regular ssm3#´s i hope.
I bought the boat late last summer and have only driven the boat for maybe half an hour or so, then I damaged one of the transmissions and the boat was taken out of the water and totally updated. I´m not very good on computers but here is a link with pictures that I hope will work: http://www.boatlife.se/forum/index.php?showtopic=10480 I only know of one more cigarette like this one in Sweden, and its the one called Adrenaline and was owned by a member of the swedish pop group Ace of Base, it was originally equipped with cats and arnesons but he replaced the engines to ford merlins diesels. |
Is the ebay link broken. I think I know which one this is though.
|
I think there might have been a misunderstandíng here, what I ment was that I own a cigarette 41, not any of the specific boats in this thread. My boat has been in sweden since the early 90´s.

My god that was a step "sdrawkcab" going to Merlins. Poof Poof BANG |

Ok, now I understand:o
Yes, I was at P1 race last month, I was attending as towboat. Sadly not with the Cigarette because it´s been sitting out of the water for almost a year now. But never the less I was attending in an Ilver 45, italian motorboat. Great weather and lots of fun, hope they will be back next year again.:evilb: |

|
Do you know the top speed of this one Tony? Props and setup?

Nope, not my boat, but If you have a picture of the whole boat I might know who´s boat it is, there are very few powerboats in Gothenburg and the entire westcoast.
Edit: Where you there Rik? |

It doesn´t ring any bells, but I´m sure I´ll see him soon or later if he´s from around here.
Anybody else here who´s got a 41 cigarette, or know of one? I´m keen on learning what props and ratio you are running. |
Jim if i am not mistaken it was about 60mph but my buddy who owns it said it would have been much faster with arnasons
|
Sounds fast enough, considering the circumstanses. Heavy low reving diesels....
I would be thrilled if you could hook me up with your friend Tony, maybe you could send me a pm with his e-mail adress or phone number, if it´s ok with him. I have some questions he might be able to answer. Forever grateful |
