Thought it sold.

Possibly, still curious. Has what appears to be Apache stickers on it as well. How/ why does it differ from a regular Top Gun?

rchevelle71 07-22-2009 06:34 AM

That is the old Zero Cavity race boat, was restored by mcmanus a while back(where the apache decals cme from), then sold to a Jerk, and it sat outside uncovered for a while, great boat, but will need some work now.

Wasn't that boat fitted with a set of "pulse" drives a few years back. There was some mention of it here and then the "speedys" were back on it.

Sydwayz 07-22-2009 08:23 AM

Yep, it had 3As, then Pulse for what, a month? Now the 3As are back on it.

i would have been proud to own it at one time. It was badass, and could be again. There have been lots of rumors/stories about the boat. One was that "she" got it in the divorce or whatever, and it sat outside uncovered for a while and it weathered. Searched on "Zero Cavity Cigarette" will turn up lots of results here on OSO.

The story I heard was the girlfriend(or wifes) family financed it, and got stuck with the payment(and a boat they would never use) when he left. Heard it had a blown tranny or maybe just a line, and got left outside to get wet, then he split(or got kicked out) and she got stuck with it(and the payment). The guy I am talking about is the one who also stole the charity money from FMO. A few guys from FMO know the boat better than I do in its current state, I knew it years ago before, and just after the redo.

Thanks.

What ever happened to the pulse drives? I remember that there was quite a bit of noise about them at one time, then nothing.

I don't know what happened with them but they did't work out on the Docs Cig.

Just to clairify for myself, and anyone reading that might get confused, you're talking about the guy that bought it AFTER Dr Santiago owned it.... right?

Dr Santiago is the one that had the conversion originally done by McManus, and raced the boat for awhile. He tried the Pulse drives, but they didn't work well, so he switched back & sold the boat.

YES,

Sorry if that was confusing. I knew it when the Doc had it. The Jerk I was referring to is NOT Dr Santiago!!! I cant rememberhis name, and actually never met the guy, but some friends of mine knew him, or at least thought they did until he stole the $$, I will try to find the threads and post them to alleviate any confusion.

Here is some reading on the previous owner (NOT THE DOC)

Doc raced the Cig early on. Then he got into the Bat Boats. The pulse drives was when it was used for pleasure. Don't think they were very user friendly.

Any one have any good pics of it's current condition?

NONONO,

The Doc was a standup guy, just sold a nice boat to a jerk who made some mistakes, and the boat suffered, could still be a good deal for the right price, just needs some lovin and some $$$
