How much did those headers help? i justed installed those on my 20 with ls6 454 motor. I am excited to see how it sounds compared to my old Log headers.

That boat was great. I would love to know where it is at. It had a 454 in it with headers, marine machine steering, clean as can be interior, nice aluminum trailer. i sold it in 2003 i think for 13500. I should have kept it I have pics but cant post them. Anyone want to post them ill send a couple via email.

I would really like to fing it again.

Also what kind of speed did u see with that outdrive and 3 blade? thanks

That motor was a 454 long block from mercury, Just the basic 300 hp motor that i had a intake carb and the exhaust. The exhaust was more for the bling. Like that it ran 67-68 . I also had a 400 hp and it would run 73. I would think a motor like a hp 500 (or 496 ho) would be great motor for the boat and would run about 80 or so. In the end i was running the 4 blade bravo witch was good overall but the 3 blade mirage plus was the fastest. I had th boat from 1994 i was 19 and sold it in 2003. I bought an 28 apache in 2002(has the arrows on the side) and had both boats. Sold the cig in 03. sold the apache in 2004 and bought an ocean yacht to fish. . I am now selling the ocean yacht and i bought a cig mystique last year. That little cig was awesome I have some more pics i will set up to email. I would run it from delaware river phily area to red eyes and stay on it and come back the next day. I have a friend that i run around with alot that had a fountain at that time. We would make that trip alot. Towed it down a few times too..

On the 20 cig I put full hydraulic steering on it too. All new. I did alot of uprades to it, The headers were lightning that were made for me. I had to take tons of measurements faxes and phone calls and they came out perfect. Never had a problem ever with them. I just drained them of water after every use. very simple and quick. The boat was very solid driving. I didnt need to sell it and i should have kept it. It was my first boat was a little hard to see it go then. The foot pedal was awesome for the boat and i never once had a problem with the drive. I think installing a bravo would be a good thing to do them. I like the blackhawk idea too.

Ill see what i can find in pic this weekend. I know i have a lot somewhere

Dave

thanks for all the info dave. I am thinking hard about putting a sternpower lower on my trs with a clever prop but do not know exactly how much i would really gain. Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Allicat38 01-08-2011 09:58 AM

I had cleaver props and they suck on this boat with the standard trs. It would push the boat to flat. It didnt carry the nose well causing a bad a ride. Thats my opinion. But you never know a prop till you try it. I you have them try them.
I didnt like them.

The same polished lower as the red, white and black cig 20 on page 3 i think with the clever. I noticed that cig also raised the trs with the shortie lower which i wont do.
