Transom assemblies?
Anyone know if (on 04' and newer models) the factory uses 5200 or the like to "glue" the transom assembly to the outside of the boat?

I don't think any sealer is used. If they did it would be ugly if you had to take one off.
|
Well, That is what I am hoping for but I would sure like to know before I start trying to take it off.
I was hoping someone out there knew first hand. . |
Our 2003 didnt have anything like that. We removed them ourselves.

Did you have ITS? Is there a gasket/O-ring?
Should have know to just contact you first. :drink: . |

I believe they are large foam gaskets. I think they are simliar to Bravo's.
If any manufacturer ever put them on with 5200 every transom assembly removal in the world would make for some Glass work. When I put my assemblies back on I used the foam gasket, and I actually went a little farther and used a nice bead of clear caulk around the assembly on the outside. |

Yeah, I do not want to try and pull it off if it has adhesive. 5200 is miserable to remove as I am sure you all know. . |
