1989 top gun fuel capacity
I have had my 89 gun for a year now hand have put 190 hrs on it already!!! I have filled the tanks on the boat probably 25 times. I know for sure it has 100 gallon tanks. Do you think its possible the factory put cafe tanks in by boat??? I dont think the tanks have ever been redone but than I have never lifted up the floor panel.....
Any feedback on other top gun guys with 100 gallion tanks would be great!!!! Just tryin to fugure out why? I would lift the floor panel but i have lonseal floor covering and would be a big pain in the ass!!! |
I thought the Cafe and Gun tanks were the same....
Each 100 gallons. |
I have a 1984, 38 flat deck. Look under the back seat, the access panel/cover for the siphon tubes in the gas tanks for the motors, you should be able to see a tag/decal on ea. tank, (you may have to stick your head in as far as you can get it and look forward). Mine were 130 gal ea.
It may not apply to your 1989, but give it a shot. |
92 and 93 top guns had 130 gal fuel tanks. At least all of the ones that I've seen did.

My cafe is 125 i have the O.E books and sales booklets.

Twin 130s in mine. Can read it on the tag thru the hatch in the engine room.

That is because your boat is so clean. You probably even polished the friggin tanks :)

Each 100 gallons. Well the build sheets on a cafe is 100 gallon and the build sheets on a top gun is 130 gallon. I guess back in 89 with all the Don Aronow stuff happening the factory was just throwing parts at boats just to get them finished! I was just thinking they put 100 gallon tanks in my boat just because thats what they had laying around at the time... |
