Wanted 2001-06 Cigarette Top Gun TS
Still looking for a 2001-06 Cigarette 38 Top Gun TS!!! any good one out there??
|
Yup!
I've got the best one, and I know it! Fresh motors, everything else all new. Just come see it, you'll be convinced. However, it is not the blue light special and I don't need to sell it. But you will save money because you won't need rebuilds on motors or drives. Transom housings are recent too, as is everything in the bilge. No scratches, could pass as a new demo boat. NONE of the upgrades I have done NEEDED to be done! 2 cockpit carpets 1 full cover 3 cockpit covers http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...r-project.html http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...fter-pics.html http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...2-tg-done.html The scary thing is, the boat was in GREAT shape when I bought it in '04. I just wanted to update "some stuff" and make it "my" boat. Well, I didn't know when to stop. Now I know exactly what I got and the boat looks like it was in a time warp - cause it looks like it rolled out of the 188th Street factory last week. Port motor - Replace stock heads Winter 2009 Starboard motor - rebuild/refresh Rebuild port drive - cryogenic gears/ polished new circ pump - stbd new coupler - port same thing w/ the drives... when doing one, i would think as detailed as you are, they both would have been done... or at least rotated the gears from the upper to lower/ vice versa etc... figured i'd get it out there so you could respond before any prospective buyers did..... or just chose to pass b/c of the abnormality. best of luck selling it bill. you have one of the nice ones. all the best, joe |

out of curiosity... it's obvious you are very particular with your boat.... so, what had you only replace the heads on one engine and then refresh the other the following season --- esp. considering how little time you put on the boat each season?
Because a motor builder screwed me, and put on an old set of heads that failed. He only did that on one motor though. So I rebuilt it in Aug 08, with intention of doing other motor in winter. But didn't get to it till now. This season, the other motor is done, and will have 1st motor gone thru too so both will be fresh this season same thing w/ the drives... when doing one, i would think as detailed as you are, they both would have been done... or at least rotated the gears from the upper to lower/ vice versa etc... Drives were swapped side to side each season. Didn't have any problems with them until one let go. Then I had wrong person attempt repair twice. This year that drive gets built right. figured i'd get it out there so you could respond before any prospective buyers did..... or just chose to pass b/c of the abnormality. best of luck selling it bill. you have one of the nice ones. all the best, joe |

(actually, the motors are out now - and you can see parts of the boat you'd never see with the motors in) EVERYBODY says their boat is clean, top notch - but they will pale in comparison to mine. Just ask anyone on the board here that has seen my boat. I am 100% confident the first serious buyer that sees it will buy it. |
Joe,
You actually read through all those items? Man, I give you credit. Were you bored? I made it through three paragraphs before my ADD kicked in. :D |
