Under average for a 9 year old boat. They are pretty reliable motors. what are they asking?

I have my 1994 Cigarette TOP GUN for sale on offshoreonly.com for 1.5 years. I've had one phone call. That's it. The market is not good with the economy.
That boat for sale has a lot of hours. My 1994 only has about 180 hours on the boat and less than 50 hours on the new engines. When I purchased the boat, the motors only had about 140-150 hours on them and they were SHOT. I had to pull them and I even had to replace the BLOCKs because the blocks that were in the boat had Helacoils. So, that indicates that the motors have already been rebuilt with that few of hours. Pistons were worn. It was a mess. If you buy a boat that has engines with that many hours, assume engine rebuilts and don't be cheap.
Replace everything that needs to be replaced.
Plan on spending between $25,000 - $30,000.
I had my B&M blowers rebuilt, Carberator Rebuilt. The only thing that I did not replace on the engine internals were the main crankshaft and piston rods. Everything is new. It cost me about $28,000 to do both engines.

Looks dirty but that Top Gun was custom built for Raul Boesel by Philly. I drove that boat when Raul still owned it. Not sure how it is now but it was mint back then.

One of the brokers in general discussion says the boat market is on a tear. :lolhit:

I think it has picked up, but only because of the time of year coupled with the repo's and sucking market primed for buyers who have the cash for new or used. I have never owned a power boat but have been looking for over a year now...lots of options in this market!!! never thought I'd see these kinda prices...but just go back a few years and look at what kinda money it took to get in one..just a cycle...hope it turns around soon though, after I buy of course.:coolcowboy:
