American Muscle History Lesson?
Can anyone give me the history of this boat: http://www.pier57.com/200446CigAmericanMuscle.htm
I'm interested in it, but I want to know more about it. I'm ready to upgrade from my 35 Outlaw. Thanks, Ed |
Thats one HELL OF AN UPGRADE !! Beautiful boat. Seems everyone says the 1075 engines need a freshen every 100 HRS or so. Be prepared to spend 20K every 100 hrs. I may be wrong, but thats what Ive heard. Good luck with your search !

I'm pretty sure the 1075's that are in it, are the newest style. The originaly ones lasted quite a bit longer than 100 hours according to Bud at Cigarette, and I've seen quite a few other sets go quite a bit over 100 hours as well. The Mercury rebuild is $20ish a side though, if nothing is broken.
That's the first of the three AM boats. It's nearly identical to the Stealth & Rum Runner boats. Not really much else to tell about it. The paint was done by BASF, it was in the Fort Lauderdale Show when it was new, and was the Cigarette factory Poker Run boat for a season or so. It's been for sale for awhile. I have no idea what it would be worth, being sort of a unique design. It's a 46 Rough Rider, with a custom cockpit & cabin. |
That boat belonged to a friend of ours for awhile. He was the "first" owner of it. As B Lee said, it was used as Cigarettes poker run boat for awhile. When Hideaway was a Cigarette dealer they got the boat and sold it to our friend. He used it for about a year or two and rebuilt the motors in, drives, etc. he didn't always have the best of luck with it but it was always serviced with an open checkbook. He ended up trading it to Pier57 on a new 42X w/700's and they've had it ever since.

My boat was totally gone through and rebuilt a year ago to the tune of 150K.
Probably get that one for 250K, but you'll have to put some coin into it. Can get mine in the neighborhood of upper 3's. |
Do you still have this boat for sale, looking for a newer rough ryder
