Gladiator values
Why are Gladiator prices so low? I know the whole market is in the tank but Gladiators seem to really be hit hard. They are one of my favorite boats, seem like a lot of boat for the money.

My take is the reason they are hit so hard is they are for a super exclusive boater. Not a lot of cockpit room, sit down only, no cabin - turns a lot of people off. |
They were alot cheaper than a top gun new, so alot cheaper used.

I told him it was a great ride but you were asking extra because you were mental....errr.... I mean it was on the Mentalist. :drink: I will put him in touch if he passes on a local boat here. |
They have no other use than going from point A to point B... I'll take a staggered one with Zul 750's

Gladiator is a boat with a smaller market, without the cabin and bolsters. Plus you better be able to dock and drive well, without a rub rail. lol... However they do look awesome.
|
Gladiators were about $50-60K cheaper than a TopGun when they were new. They are a very limited market. But, good ones, according to Phil are getting rare. He wouldn't be surprised to see the value increase on some of the the nicer ones in the future.

I just sold my gladiator. It was the best boat I have owned to date. Only reason I sold it was because I have a 3 month old.

The Gladiators are still a badass boat. My favorite sitdown v bottom. Best bang for your buck. Who needs a cabin?
|
The one with the 750 Zuls for $109k ? Is the market really that bad?

I always figured if your boat isn't sold (and you really and truely want to sell it) within 90 days you are more than 10% above what the market is. Just my personal rule of thumb, it's made my boats go away when I wanted them gone. |
That boat is a non-staggered boat, used hard with roll over history. Nuff said?
|
Roll over history...ahhh, they forgot to mention that in the ad, go figure...

PM, you outta bring your boat out to Sebago this summer for a day, there's no speed limit ! I'll supply the lame jun.
|
I could of had that boat 2 1/2 years ago for $155K. I bought my Comp instead.

Probably worse than that if you want it gone in the next 60 or so days. By then half the country will be on the downside of summer and it will get even worse.

Isell, Thanks..It sure is..:drink: |
The good ones are far and few. Joe's is a good one.
|
I have LOVED those boats since seeing one for the first time. That's going to be a timeless design.
Like many have said, there are a lot of people that put stock into having some kind of cabin, which makes it difficult to price one in the same ballpark as a Top Gun or similar. |

Johnny Lightning! (it's former name, lol) The Rio Roses Cafe Open, Rio Roses Maximus, & that Gladiator, always looked killer when they were all together back when they were all new boats. That boat, & another LipShip Gladiator, also used to look so cool sitting on their lifts across the canal from each other, when you passed into the inlet that takes you to TNT & Lipship a few years ago. It looked like some kind of "gateway" or similar "grand entrance". http://img813.imageshack.us/img813/8931/47261577.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/2903/46919903.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
