I have a 1986 Cigarette Flatdeck the owner before me named the boat top gun.
The question is should I leave it or should I take the Top Gun Stickers off? Let me hear you thoughts. Justin |
It's bad luck to rename your boat. I like the name, it gives it a cool story.
|
It is only bad luck if you already owned and named the boat and made a name change. A new owner can rename his new boat bad-luck free. And, I think that it looks good. However, you might get tired of all the people that ask you about your TopGun.
|
In my opinion, I don't think that Cigarette's should have names on the sides, only on the back. I think it would look longer, sleeker, and cleaner without it. Again, that's my opinion............ :p
Very nice boat though. Saw the YouTube video also. You gotta love that sound!!!! |

The question is should I leave it or should I take the Top Gun Stickers off? Let me hear you thoughts. Justin I found a "renaming ceremony" script online (shortest one I could find) and had at it. Basic process as follows. Remove the old name, and launch and perform the ceremony. I went traditional and used champagne, after reading the script, I took a swig (and I hate that stuff) and then poured about half of the rest of the bottle over the nose. Don't go too cheap, this is a big day. :) Finish the bottle with who ever you bring with you. If a lot of folks, then have some more bottles, same or less price. Pull the boat out over night. Next day, put the new name on, launched it again, and then did the standard naming ceremony, again with the same champagne process. Worked fine for me with the new name. Your mileage may vary. :drink: |
How About Adding a couples of S's.

Cool boat! I could go eaither way, but I think I would like it better without it. I'm a fan of clean hull sides. Hell, I don't even have stripes on mine!

Cool old school boat and paint. I think it would look better without it.

Without. You dont want everyone asking how Goose, Iceman & Maverick are doing. Either that or people would be requesting a flyby. :party-smiley-004:
|
Without. Nice boat...
|
Without it. It's a flatdeck enjoy the killer classic lines. Very nice looking boat by the way.
|
Without, nice classic lines.

Just take it off, like alot of people are saying. It would look classier with it off.
Second, its a Flatdeck, not a Top Gun.. Sam |
