45' Maximus Centerdrive

The Maximus Centerdrive, 45' has access to the cabin via the center of the helm that lifts up. Ive seen pictures of the boat, but never of the cabin. Does anyone have pictures?
Is the cabin similar to that of the 46' Rider?

Pwrbt33 11-03-2010 03:25 PM

It wasnt on the lift to long Rob. :) Its in my shop now getting the normal service work done to it. If I get a chance I will snap a few pictures of the cabin and post them. He wont mind. Its a cover girl cabin with a porta potty, cooler and storage compartment.

John,
Does the owner run the boat much? How does he like it?
Thanks
Brad

I would love to see it - always wondered what it looked like....

It was getting chilly so I figured it wouldnt be. I love the colors and everything about it, I just cant get used to the center steer to own, and it sounds awesome!

Have you gotten a chance to bring us some pictures?

Here's a few shots while the boats in our shop.

Brad, he loves how the boat rides!! Theres nothing like riding in a 45 Cigarette in 4 to 6's and having the power and length to stay on top and in it!! He's looking to sell it and step into a nice center console. If anybody knows of someone looking for a one of a kind poker runner let us know!

Thanks!

I'll get a few more later.

seafordguy 11-10-2010 08:50 AM

WOW - I love the way it rolls over in the back - just beautiful.

Question - do I see a rubrail between the two red stripes at the top, or is that an optical illusion? I didn't think they had rails...

Sea-Dated 11-10-2010 09:37 AM

Thanks for the pics.

Any good pics of the cabin and cockpit?

the bear 11-10-2010 10:31 AM

Wow, very nice.

The rubrail was added a few years after the boat was built.

Seems as we get older the center consoles look better and better! I remember getting on that boat at the Ft L show years back. If my memory is correct there were two seats forward of the driver.

When that boat first made its apperance at the FL boat show, it was embarassing for some of us Cig guys . We all thought that with the center section up, it looked silly and foolish. What direction was Skip taking Cigarette, we wondered? It was not taken seriously. Now, years later, I can appreciate the uniqueness of this boat and think its cool. My, how things do change.

DirtyMoney 11-28-2010 01:45 AM

Any cockpit or cabin pic?

SS930 11-28-2010 10:42 AM

It certainly was ahead of its time. I loved the paint then and still do today. I remember seeing it in the mags years ago and couldn't ready decide if I liked the layout or not... it didn't take long to grow on me though. I too would love to see more current pics of it.

What is the idea behind the logo wrapping onto the transom...is it supposed to be that the boat is so fast it's outrunning the logo???

twin screws 11-28-2010 12:44 PM

What year is that boat, I remember seeing it a few years back?

I don't think there was a reason...Just did something different...Here's the 38 Gun "twin" to it...I love the paint scheme. Original and something classy to it.

I still dont get the center console thing though....

Just a different design I guess. I wouldn't want it on my boat.

I always liked that paint, nice gun.

Heres a few more of the cockpit and cabin of the 45......

BLee 12-01-2010 12:54 PM

I really like the paintjob on the center steer Maximus, & on the Top Gun that Tank posted pics of.

That Maximus could still use a few changes that would make it MUCH more user friendly, & safer to operate.

For example: You can't access the cabin without raising the helm forward, so the driver has to get out of the way every time someone needs to go down below. That would get real old having to kill the power every time, THEN move aside, especially when you're trying to idle around.

It's also tough to see other boats port & starboard from the drivers seat when you're running, when there are people sitting in the forward seats on either side of the helm.

It's a neat looking boat, but they never built another one like it due to "some" of these details. The other cockpit is so much more comfortable for the driver & passengers to operate the boat from.

That seating arrangement reminds me of an amusement park ride. I also like the paint but prefer the side by side seating.

He's talking about the helm configuration Sam. There are 4 maximus' total, this is the only one with the "funky" seating.

MiniHawk 12-03-2010 09:03 PM

Oh, I see. Thanks Tank! What were the other ones? I have only seen 1 in person. The other 3 I see on the Internet- one of them is the boat I originally requested pics for.

I've never seen the one in Europe. Do you have any pics? And I didn't count the one at Cig...Not quite built in my opinion.

Think it's 45' has the Maximus emblems on seat backs, cockpit/transom/deck is diff. from 36' and #6's???.

Unless someone decides to have it painted/all rigged and everything. I strongly doubt that will happen because how the design of the 1st one affects how people will enjoy the boat like people have said.

Ahhhhh, I remember that thing now. I actually think that might be one in the same as the non rigged one that was at Cig. According to Chad braver the non rigged 45 is gone.

I think there's sone video of that boat floating around somewhere.

So this was the unrigged one? Here's a crappy video I found. :party-smiley-004:

Yea, thats the video I was talking about. Forgot all about this boat. I'm just assuming the un-rigged 45 is the same as this because it's not at the factory any more and hasn't been there in a while. ??

That white one looks like it's at the St. Tropaz harbor.

Interestg intakes on the side if the boat. That was some work at the factory! And that engine hatch reminds me of the hatch on the kilo boat. Also interesting how it looks like the dash is a wrap around. Sweet ride.
