Yes - I did mike. Received on Saturday I believe, but was at a wedding and haven't been able to pull the cover off yet and mount it. Looks like a nicely done piece!!
Thanks a TON. Let me know what I owe you and how you want to get paid. THANK YOU MIKE!!!! Your guy did an amazing job on the fabrication. Regardless of whether or not it works, we still need to pay for them. Please advise as to how we should proceed with payment.........and how much. :) |

-Mike With your boat currently under renovation, I wonder if you could answer a question for me? I can't imagine that the piece that you sent me just secures into the fiberglass with self tapping screws, right? Is there some kind of backer on the inside of the consul that the screws screw into for support? Or, is it through bolted with a metal plate on the inside? |
Sorry for disapointmnt screwed in. I kept all the hardware together and that is what i pulled out. And from what i remeber and I can go home and look after work i do not believed you can get to the back of it as its the bulk head between cockpit and cabin and its screwed into the bulkhead

Hey Ajocabazzi - just a thought I had the other day, but I am going to open one of my hatches the first time I slam the door shut - in case it needs some adjustment or something I want to be able to get to the inside of the boat in case the whole handle needs to be taken off or something.
Can't picture how it bolts together right now, so I might be WAY off base, but it crossed my mind...... |

Wow, no kidding, that's it huh? Crazy! You would think that there would be more than that. If someone wanted to "break in", all they would have to do is yank on the door hard enough and you'd pull the receiver right out of the bulkhead, no? Once the dash/gauge panel is removed, couldn't that area be accessed from that point?

-Mike So, you just hold it up to the bulk head and screw it in place? It appears that a hole will need to be made in the bulk head behind the receiver, as the latch is longer than the receiver is deep. Follow me? Is that how it is on your boat? In addition, it doesn't appear that the door will close flush, as the thickness of the mounting plate on the receiver will hold the door open slightly, right? Since it's not counter sunk. I suppose, once installed, weather stripping on the side of the door would fill the gap and help to prevent water from getting into the cabin, no? Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? Seems to make sense. |
