May buy a 40 Excalibur Hawk..pros/cons ?
 

Anyone know anything about these boats? Lookin for the pro's and cons . Want to move up in size and been lookin at this boat all summer. Does anyone know this boat? Dont know much about them but lookin for more wave crushing lenght and this boat seems to fit the bill, at a reasonable price. Any info on these boats would help...thanks.

Just an opinion, Its just about 9 wide anythign over 8'6'' need permits to be "Law abiding". Its a bravo boat even so Imco but bravo style lot of weight for it. Does have nice upgrades and money was spent on it. Also have the truck to pull it?

Wow. Looks to be a more than fair deal...... Helluva lot of work on that boat.

I know the boat, I've been on it, even wrenched on it a little. Its a 10. You won't find a 40 excalibur in better condition. New transom, stringers, new cabin, etc. There is nothing on that boat that hasn't been updated and you won't find another seller that takes care of his stuff like Matt.

Its a wider boat - 10' beam, you can put A LOT of people in the cockpit. Much roomier than a cigarette, apache, etc. Doesn't have a bad porpoise. The bilge is very roomy and has plenty of extra space for a generator. Its so wide you can sit down next to the motors and pull the exhaust manifolds.

Agreed, it was done very well.
But in a video it does seem to have a bit of a porpoise in flat water... maybe just that video. Regardless, flat water is not what these boats were meant to run in. Most older flat bottoms, that were designed for trannies, that now have bravos will porpoise a bit.
I'm pretty sure it's only 9ft beam too.

I'd like it for myself, except it would take me 3hrs to wash and dry it by myself. :D

I hate that video for that, looks like I don't know how to run the boat. I had it trimmed up before getting up to speed trying to get the big bit*h to launch behind a 43 Black Thunder ( not a lot of wake to work with). As you said, it likes a little tab in smooth water at slow speeds. The boat will suprise you for an old 40' Flat Bottom.
