What are your plans?

frickstyle 09-15-2010 08:09 AM

Everything:

Transom replace - complete
New drives - purchased
Paint hull - or wrap? w/ minor glass touch ups
Redo bilge, I wanted to paint white, but I can see that will be a pain keeping it clean during the install..... suggestions?
Redo cockpit - new upholstery, new dash, change all black to white on dash
Redo Cabin - upholstery
And all the little things.....I have my hands full.

White Bilge is nice, Awlgrip. You won't be dissapointed. I think it makes the motors stand out. I also agree, docking lights are cool on cruisers, not Cigarettes.

I guess you could wrap the bilge in the plastic wrap for shipping that has a light adhesive on one side while working on the install?

I agree, docking lights will go, I like the clean look.

Anyone remove the deck rail from their Gun? Pictures?

Looks like a neat and fun project. I've redone a lot of Sr-1's, but always wanted to do a cig.

My deck rail has been removed. It does look sleeker, however setting an anchor or being on the bow in rough weather is not easily accomplished when waxed. Makes it slippery. I do however like the look.

You will have to zoom in, only picture of bow on this computer

Shouldn't be a problem. I repainted mine with white awlgrip and installed the motors myself.......these were twins in a 28ft boat. Messing up the new paint was a non-issue. Get something strong like awlgrip and it will be fine, you can always do some touchup if you need too.

I would vote against removing the deck rail......because its functional. Just my .02

Yeah, I kind of like the rail there for safety. Last night was the first time it was suggested, got me thinking.
