Snowmobile season is over.
Here is a pic with the new mufflers. Can't wait to get it in the water this season. Still have a lot of wiring and interior work to finish. Kris Vogt |

Mufflers

Kris. The boat looks fantastic. but I have been there-done that, with air activated mufflers in Wisc/Minn. I hope you have better luck with the water patrol than I did when I had exactly that style mufflers on my Cigarette and they stopped me numerous times w/noise tickets. I found that you cannot seal the butterfly completely and exhaust still escapes around them. I built some caps, that I used to install in the no wake zones, and had some "down tubes" welded into the outside of the mufflers that directed the exhaust downward when the caps were installed. That set-up worked but it was a hassle to use all the time. End result I sold the mufflers and built the final tubing tailpipes that followed the transom to the center and pointed downward and were all between the drives and underwater at idle. That system worked and I was not bothered again by the waterpatrol. Call me if you want to talk.

Kris, The boat looks great!!!!!! How did it run?
Mark:drink: |
Ran good on Sunday. Still getting the motors dialed in. We added about 300 pounds of sand in the nose to get the balance better. When I went out Friday to test, waves were a good 2-4 and my nose kept getting sent sky ward. The nose weight made a huge difference.
Speed wise (I'm pretty happy so far) with sand in the front and 3/4 fuel. I rolled into the throttle one time and let off at 97 mph at 5500rpm. I think it will do a hundred. 4000rpm was 70-72 mph. 3200rpm was 55mph. Kris Vogt |
That's awesome!
Be safe. |
Very nice
|
WOW.... Nice Results....A little prop work and I'm sure you'll be able to get the nose down some.

Rudy It has Hawk 575s with 250 B&M blowers. I think the original blowers were 120s or 140s, single carb? Sorry Kris, killer job on the boat by the way! |

Yeah, I saw one for sale with the same paint job. It is a "Pro Series" which may have something to do with a small run of the same paint??? Not sure.

Went out for a short ride Sunday. Gave it another short blast this time with tabs all the way up and drives up pretty high - the recall reads 100. Going out Friday afternoon to do final tuning.
