39 Cig 525 whipples
 
Has anybody whippled a 39 cig with 525s? How fast? are whipples dependable?

The Merc 525 is a super reliable package. I wouldn't mess with it. However, now that the computer codes are cracked, you can bump up the HP in these boats w/out a S/C.

the 525s are bullet proof even with the whipples.. the weak link would be the drives.. drive it with a little common scense and it would be fine.. the 39 is underpowered with bone stock 525s.. just my 02ct.

Fuel & Timming
 
Hi now that the fuel & timming programming can be changed, is it now possible to install a procharger system? I belive that was the biggest hurdel.

I agree with Customryder, the 525 with whipples is awesome power, drive upgrade is a must, I used Billet marine for mine and am very happy, should run nice with the extra HP.

I have not heard good things about Pro-chargers. Stick w/ Whipple or even Vortech.

i thought i remember seeing a thread recently on a 39 TG with whippled 525s and arenesons that were recently put on? Think it was the silver 39

How much h.p. can you gain with e.c.u. upgrade? Bone stock motors made 540 hp! Wonder if the whipple package will be as reliable as the 700sci

100% agree with 525's not being enuf. Just buy a 700 boat and you'll be a happy camper.

Yes, I have a customer in Turkey with a silver 39 Top Gun with Arnesons and Whipple'd 525's.

Boat runs great he says.

I whippled my 525's, they dyno'd at 780hp/735ftlbs of torque . I have xr's with imco lowers. Installed on a 39 velocity which is lighter. Have been a reliable setup. As customryder stated if you drive sensibly setup should last.

Sounds about right, it is a nice package if done correctly with some drive upgrades you should be good to go.
