Do I have a drive Problem?
I have noticed recently that when I start my boat in neutral, that the port motor drive spins slowly. Is this a problem with the drive or transmission? It is a 86 Cafe Racer, With TRS drives. Your input is needed.

Darin Slow as in you can reach down and stop the blade from spinning with your hand? |
Its the clutches in the transmission are tight. Don't grab the prop with your hand!!!!!!!!!! Alot of the transmissions do it. Usually if you put the boat in the water the force of the water will stop it. If it starts going faster at idle after while then you will potentially have trans problems shortly. I wouldn't worry about it yet.

trans problems
When the boat is in the water, you can see the prop moving. It is not moving enough really to effect the direction of the boat. My mechanic said the same thing. Its the clutches in the trans. It has Borg Warner trans. What does it cost to rebuild one?
